Mikaila Ulmer, a 19 year old entrepreneur from Houston Texas who’s making a huge impact in the business world. Mikaila is the founder and CEO of Me & the Bees Lemonade, a company she started when she was just 4 years old. Her story began when she was stung by a bee twice. Instead of being scared and hating them like most, she became curious about bees and learned how important they are for our environment. Mikaila’s parents encouraged her to come up with a business idea for a children’s entrepreneur competition. Inspired by her love for bees and her great grandmother’s lemonade recipe, she decided to create a lemonade sweetened with honey. It wasn’t just about the drink, but also to help save bees. some of her profits go toward bee conservation efforts. At 9 years old, Mikaila went on the TV show Shark Tank , and got $60,000 from Daymond John. Her lemonade became a huge, and now Me & the Bees Lemonade is sold in major grocery stores all over the u.s. Mikaila’s company continues to grow, she is now 19 years old and still an entrepreneur, her net worth sits right around a million dollars but that’s before deals with grocery stores across the country. What makes Mikaila’s story so cool is that she turned a childhood experience into a thriving business with a purpose. She’s a great example of how young people can make a big impact in this world, and how being original can be so beneficial. As a 19 year old this gives me so much motivation, because it goes to show you can love what you do in life, it can be something as simple as lemonade, or as complex as going to space, you just need to find something that brings you joy and put your head down and grind for it.
