Evan Spiegel is the co-founder of Snapchat, something many of us use on a daily basis. Spiegel is the classic entrepreneur that loves to take risks. With only three classes left at Stanford Evan decided to drop out. Although many thought he was crazy for leaving with barely any class left Evan obviously was making a good choice. Facebook recently offered to buy Snapchat for 3 billion dollars and they turned it down. The company continues to have massive success, especially with the millennial generation that Evan is a part of. With millions invested and a very high valuation the future for Snapchat is looking very bright.
Crazy to believe that he turned down 3 billion dollars as a buyout. I guess we will all see if that was a good or bad decision in the next coming years. Simply amazing how he had the idea and ran with it. Only having 3 classes left in school and he tells himself he has a better idea. Genius
It’s interesting how many entrepreneurs drop out of school for their idea, the exact opposite of what society says will bring about success! I love seeing the ideas that achieve positive return for the risk they take.
It is amazing that snapchat was actually successful. To be honest it is kind of a sketchy idea that I think could definitely lead to an increase in internet bullying and sexting. It is kind of weird that with current social trends that there is such great support for this app. I know personally it is one of most used apps on my iphone. It also wouldn’t be possible without smartphone technology, Apple specifically.
