IdeaPaint is a dry erase paint company that was founded in 2002 by John Goscha as a freshman at Babson College in Massachusetts. According Goscha and its other founders Andrew Foley and William Gioielli, IdeaPaint’s purpose is to inspire and encourage everyone in their creative potential through their primary product which can transform almost any smooth surface into an erasable canvas, giving people the space they need to fully explore their ideas.
Back in their dorms at Babson College, these entrepreneurs would hang large sheets of paper on their walls to have a better space to think through their ideas. However, they would constantly have to tear it down and put more up every time they ran out of room and they thought, Surely there must be a better way. The team searched for this product but, to their surprise, they found nothing. So they set off on a six year journey to make this product commercially viable. Now they are widely successful and have been recognized by Mashable and Forbes. Goscha says “I look forward to the company bringing great products to market that inspire creativity and innovation in all of our customers for many years to come.”
The world is your canvas with IdeaPaint. Innovation is endless. This is so helpful especially in a place like college when your working in groups and need to map out ideas to others. Even just for visual learners, this is a great tool to study and be able to see the big picture. This is such a cool idea!
Identify a classic problem and teaming up to solve it! a great story and adventure as a group of friends are now living the dream running a successful business.
I love white boards! It is extremely helpful that STEM has them installed to make it extremely easy to work on a group project. The entr suite is thinking of painting the walls with this paint and I can’t wait to see what we come up with with all the room to innovate.
This is a great idea, and I like how it is a simple pivot from chalkboard paint. I could see this having a wide appeal to businesses and colleges, but even moms who could use this as a protective coating for their walls while allowing their kids to draw wherever and whenever they want.
This is a really great idea. I actually know a few people who attend Babson College. Its a great example of taking something like a dry erase board, which was really popular at the time and knowing how to market it. It would be much like what someone could do with a smartboard nowadays.
this is totally a killer idea. No one has done anything like it and they will run the market.
Great idea! its like finger paint for adults.
This is a great concept! Currently on the market there is chalkboard duck tape, paint, dry erase board paint, etc. But all those things are very permanent which makes Idea Paint a great option for college students that don’t have the ability to paint their walls (or a GCC put duck tape on the wall).
