Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe. The two men who first created Myspace. The two saw the potential in another media platform. They started the project in 2003. At launch only the employees of the business they worked at had accounts, and they had a competition to see who could get the most friends to join Myspace. This is a form of marketing, using the word of mouth to spread the word of a product. The way the employees spread was quick and allowed Myspace to grow so quickly that the developers had a hard time keeping up with all the new users and updates they were trying to implicate. But sadly, now, Myspace has lost popularity due to the famous Facebook. Which did everything that Myspace did better and with more functions.
Never got the whole social network thing, still have yet to get one. Sometimes I feel bad for myspace and wan’t to make an account just to give them a user.
Didn’t the person who created myspace sell it for a large amount of money before Facebook got big? I could be wrong, I just thought that I heard that in the past.
