As I was researching you entrepreneurs, I thought about what is currently influential. The one thing that kept coming to mind was song artists and singers. There are countless examples of artists that have established brands for themselves and created their own markets. My previous post talked about Justin Bieber and the power of his brand image. Shawn Mendes is another young musician who is doing an excellent job of this. He became famous on Vine and eventually had a top 10 song with “Stitches.” He’s created a huge following and fan base for his craft and he continues to have success.
I believe singers and musicians are entreprenuers because they are creating something that is fulfilling a need or solving pain. Most of the time it is original and wanted. Singers/Musicians are a great example of entrepreneuer’s using their talents to pursue their goals.
I do not agree with this post. I don’t think that all singers are entrepreneurs just because they are constantly using their talents to provide a living. I don’t think that talents are necessarily a viable example for being an entrepreneur because people are born with talents.
I disagree with your comment. That talent is their vehicle for solving a need. Talents are easily a viable example for being an entrepreneur, creative talent, singing talent, whatever it may be can help an entrepreneur further their business.
I happened to find this post very relevant. The disagreement seems to be over whether a musicians talents count toward entrepreneurial attitude. I don’t see how we can qualify different talents just because they are born with them. The traditional entrepreneur may have more innate marketing talent or networking talent, but we wouldn’t discredit him for that. Why would we do the same for musicians talents. They are using their passions to solve a problem and create a service that people pay for. That seems like an entrepreneur to me.
