In 2005, Andrew Sutherland created Quizlet when he was in high school and needed to study for a French vocabulary quiz. After acing it, he shared it with his friends and they shared it with their friends. Now, there are over 50 million users a month, 3+ billion study sessions, and 350 million study sets. Quizlet started as just a simple tool and has grown into having 7 different study modes. There are also tools to help teachers and activities to help classes have a fun way of learning. Investors of Quizlet include General Atlantic, Icon Ventures, USV, Costanoa Ventures, Owl Ventures, and Altos Ventures. What once was a tool to study for a French vocabulary quiz, has turned into a business valued at $1 billion. Quizlet has also raised over $20 million in funding during the pandemic. Because of all of this, Andrew Sutherland has proved himself at a successful entrepreneur.
First off let me start by saying I have used quizlet since 8th grade. I love how it helps students pass there exams simply by just showing them flashcards electronically or even study games. Quizlet has revolutionized the way studying takes place. For me, I personally use computers and other electronics to help me study rather than paper or tangible ways. Quizlet has totally taken studying and school to a whole other level. Really enjoyed the way you wrote this and added statics to back up your writing. Very well-written blog post!
I did a post on this same subject and i have to say that this is such a simple subject but it is so pertinent to our lives. Its crazy that such a amazing idea could be made by someone who was just in high-school. It really shows that anyone can make a great business. Really enjoyed your take on this subject!
