Jessica Alba is a well-known address who recently ventured into entrepreneurship. Several years ago, she was pregnant with her first child and as most new parents do she researched how to make her home baby safe. After one load of laundry, which she washed in “baby-safe” laundry detergent, she broke out in a rash. She thought,” If I had such a bad allergic reaction, I knew it couldn’t be good for my baby. So, I set out to educate myself.” After months of research, she saw there was a social injustice that the average family couldn’t easily find or purchase healthy products. So, she created Honest.com to make a better world for her children and other families. Today, the Honest Company sells everything from household cleaners to makeup. Jessica Alba saw a way that she could make a difference for healthier and safer families and used this as her motivation to create the Honest Company. Today, her role in the company is the visionary leader. She also guides overall strategy, creative marketing, and product innovation.
It is amazing when an entrepreneur goes out to solve a problem that effects so many with a core purpose of providing healthier and safer products for families. This “honest” mentality combined with her ambulated skills made her a perfect leader and creator for this company. Starting with a good basis of ethics, entrepreneurs can be greatly successful.
Pretty cool to see someone who is rich and famous striving to make a difference. She easily could have pushed others to fix this problem, but instead, Alba educated herself and sought to fix the problem herself.
This is really inspiring how even though she was already rich and famous, she didn’t just sit by and enjoy her wealth. She was able to make a difference and create a product that people need. It is also impressive how she was able to turn this into such a successful business.
This is kinda funny: i knew about Honest and I knew about Jesica Alba, but i never knew that they were linked. I was gonna say that i think that its probably easier for actresses to start businesses because they are so well-known, but then you wrote about this and i had no idea Alba was connected to it: I guess her name wasnt nearly as important as creating a great product
