As a 7-year-old, Alina loved candy but knew that excess sugar was bad for her. She turned her love for candy into the driving force for creating a healthier alternative. She used the $7,500 in savings from her grandparents and chased her dream.
She created a fruit-flavored lollipop sweetened without sugar and began selling them in Whole Foods, SuperValu, and Amazon. She was so successful that First Lady Michelle Obama invited her to the White House as an official guest on two separate occasions!
Alina took a passion of hers and ran with it. She knew that if she wanted a healthier alternative to candy, chances are other people do too.
Being a 7 year old and having the drive and being mature enough to even think about creating your own business is special. I know that for me when I was 7 I only worried that I was not going to be able to get to eat ice cream after dinner. Showing her ability to change the world at such a young age is something to commended. With the success she has endured it is awesome to see that people are noticing. Even the First Lady of the United State.
For Alina to only be 7 years old and to come up with such a brilliant idea is truly amazing and leaves me to wonder what I could have done at 7 years old. I really think her idea is a great idea, granted with some money help from her grandparents, but still astonishing.
This is crazy to think of a 7 year old creating a company. Obviously there is often a negative connotation with the word sugar and people are often drawn to sugar-free options, but for a 7 year old to create something like this is crazy to me. This is awesome to see someone so young be so successful!
