Benelab is a search engine that donates 100% of its revenues to charity. This search engine has taken the everyday task of searching the web and turned into a charitable activity. From a young age Jack Kim was learning to code HTML and build websites. While many kids were outside playing tag and hide n seek Jack was creating websites. Something he says he loves to do. When Benelab was started Jack made the rule of having no adults involved. Instead, Jack sought the help of his classmates to help him come up with the best ways to run his charitable search engine. Jack is currently growing Benelab and looking to move into other areas of the internet where he can help those in need.
It is nice to hear that such a young person can be involved in a tech start-up that would seem extremely complex to older people. Also, instead of making websites for money and making a name for himself, he seems to utilize his skills solely to help people and encourage other young aspiring entrepreneurs.
Whenever you can start a business out of pure enjoyment you know its going to be a success. The fact that he prefered to code during his childhood points tom one of his own passions. It is also very cool that he donates 100% to charity. Awesome find!
It is absolutely amazing that he donates 100% of revenue to charity. It’s so great to see young children having such big hearts and coming up with incredible ideas to benefit others!
I love how Jack found a passion so early! However, what I think is even more remarkable is his desire to get other kids of his own age involved in charity work. Jack isn’t willing to let other people fall into complacency, something that I think is really prevalent in the USA. We want to help others, but when it comes to actually doing it, we assume others will. We can all use Jack as an example to take action ourselves and to spur those around us to do the same.
