When i think of young entrepreneurs my mind is immediately fixed on people such as Blake Ross. While many people may not be familiar with the name he is up there with people such as Mark Zuckerberg when it comes to the subject of software engineers. Ross, while not creating the world’s biggest form of social media, helped people in a way that makes things such as social media, and the internet in general, easier to use. Blake Ross is the man behind the highly successful company “Mozilla.” The reason behind his creation of this company is highly due to the fact that it was high time for a new web browser to emerge and replace the frustrating and slow browser, “Internet Explorer.” With his goal now set, Ross began his journey to create something new and improved, and thus Mozilla Firefox was born. Released in 2002, firefox became the front runner in the web browser race. The most amazing part about this company is that in a world where technology is continuing to advance and new companies are springing up everywhere, mozilla continues to be successful even after 14 years. So successful in fact that the company facebook saw its incredible potential and bought Mozilla in 2007. since then Ross has continued to work with the company he founded, under its new owner until 2013 when he resigned. Rick Ross is a prime example of a young entrepreneur because he saw a problem and provided a solution making the world of the web better for us all.
Ross saw the problem of IE and decided to try and fix it. And 14 years of going strong proves that it was no fluke. Also, getting the attention of Facebook and getting bought by them is a major achievement.
He continued to see the problem and stuck with it until he resigned. That is a true founder of a company that is going good.
Blake Ross is an inspiration. I’ve used Mozilla Firefox for quite some time and never really thought about it. I do enjoy it a lot because its much faster than internet explorer. People that can see a problem, determine a solution and follow through with it are truly an inspiration. Facebook definitely seems like they are trying to take over the world like Google. I also find it interesting that he continued to work for his company despite the buyout. Shows that those who are passionate about something and not just doing it for the money will always be the ones who are successful. The writer of this blog post is also an inspiration to me!
Mozilla Firefox is fantastic, especially when you bring Internet Explorer into the picture. I had no idea that Facebook bought them – then again, I shouldn’t be surprised because of how many companies Facebook is purchasing. I think the most amazing thing about Blake Ross is the fact that he launched Firefox when he was 19. Many college students think they can’t do anything particularly substantial until they graduate, so it’s great to see someone breaking the mold.
Blake Ross is an incredible human being and I can honestly say that I use firefox all the time. However, I would like to point out the title of your blog post is Bob Ross, who, in my opinion, is much more incredible than Blake Ross.
