Charles Williamson is the co-founder of Stairway, a digital platform, and personal tutor which was launched in 2019. His journey is a very inspiring one focused on innovation, determination, and his passion for education.
Charles’ story began in London at King’s College. He was trying to attain a degree in computer science. He demonstrated exceptional talent and knowledge there within his first year. He was even recognized as one of the top students in his program. Despite how well he was doing in school he decided to drop out and focus on Stairway to revolutionize STEM subjects. This risk paid off quite quickly as he raised 15,000 pounds in equity finance. This would set the building blocks for the entirety of the company.
Stairway took off almost immediately distinguishing itself through the experiences and the community it offered for students. It allowed students to work together and learn from each other. Charles Williamson had substantial growth just within its founding year. At the end of the year his platform had been valued at 3.35 million pounds.
In 2021, Nordic EdTech company became interested in purchasing Stairway. EdTech ended up buying Stairway for substantially more than 3.35 million pounds. Nordic EdTech expanded Stairway and reached a larger group. This acquisition helped enhance the mission Williamson was trying to achieve.
After the acquisition, he decided to focus on his own product and consulting business. Though it is not as successful as Stairway it has still become a very large incorporation. This business is known as Williamson Consulting Group Inc. He built this up to be a six-figure business. With this being his main focus now he still is working on a multitude of things—these range from personal holding company to tech and media businesses. At age 26 he built a multitude of companies some being majorly successful like Stairway and others not making it at all.
