Many of you have probably heard or seen the “corn kid” on TikTok. 7-year-old, Tarik, is a corn connoisseur and his TikTok has gone viral on TikTok in the past few weeks. Tarik didn’t stop by just going viral on TikTok, he is trying to make some money off of his fame. His video alone has gotten over 23 million views on TikTok and 3 million views on youtube. To make some money Tarik has started selling personal videos of him talking about corn. He has sold 21 of these videos already, charging anywhere from 150-500 dollars. The University of Nebraska was a customer of Tarik, in which they received a video of him saying “It’s cornhusker football, I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful thing. This Nebraska team has the juice! Have a corn-tactic season huskers.” Tarik is showing some young entrepreneurial traits by taking advantage of his fame and making some money off of it. It’ll be interesting to see if Tarik is able to continue his fame or if it will just be a one-time thing. I have attached the original youtube video that Tarik starred in, the sound of this video is now going viral on TikTok and youtube as well.
It’s crazy how our culture works, that as soon as we see something hilarious and we like/share that thing, it can become viral so quickly. It’s really smart of this kid to use the fame he got in that way. And our society loves this type of thing. Best of luck to this kid. I hope he uses his platform in a good way.
I hope this kid has a way to monetize. But yea it is crazy how easy it is to blow up via TikTok. Look at Duolingo for example. They use TikTok to help connect with their customers, mainly high schoolers, to help grow their brand. TikTok really is the new age of marketing. And a place for even something as simple as this to get millions of eyes.
With the song and all its been interesting but really cool that He has made some kind of business from it. As he makes it fun for everyone. Corn kid has gotten to be known across the world as kind of a joke as well as a known person just for making a different video that is not really serious at all.
This is a cool post about how a viral video turned into an entrepreneurial venture. Tarik and his family are very smart for capitalizing off his fame, as he is currently a hot commodity. I really hope he continues to make money off of his humor and likeness.
I saw the corn kid on TikTok awhile back and didn’t think anything of it. Really cool to see how that one tiktok that blew up could be a new business adventure for a young kid. It is also cool to see how other internet sensations like Mr. Beast collab with Tariq to make fun videos.
