16-year-old Sadie Robertson, daughter of Willie Robertson, recently announced that she would be teaming up with Sherri Hill to release a new line of teenage targeted dresses that would be “Daddy-Approved”.
She says that she has two standards for her dresses, they have to fulfill the finger-tip rule in length, and they have to be “everything modest up above”.
Sadie declared that she had been working on the designs for the dresses for quite sometime, and even some of her designs are still under construction and is making alterations in order to fit the Robertson family stamp of approval.
The idea for the dress designs began when the Robertson daughters went searching for dresses that were approved by their parents, and realized how minimal of dresses made the cut.
I am excited to see what designs and dresses surface, and I am even more excited to start seeing younger teens realize how valuable their image and their bodies are. This is a great way to get teen girls back onto the right path. Way to go, Sadie.
Great post! I think she’s doing a great job of leveraging her connections, but also doing something she loves and is passionate about. I hope she continues to stay strong in her beliefs as she gets older!
Things are easier for Sadie in bringing her designs to market, since the market that follows Duck Dynasty already exists. Her idea is a good one, and I think that if she is able to create seriously unique dresses, her brand will become a respected one.
Great post, Jade! I also really enjoyed watching her on Dancing With The Star’s this season for this specific reason. As much controversy as it caused with her dad having to approve her outfits each week, it also brought about positive influence. Since she is a growing role model for today’s young women, this action spoke volumes to for us young ladies to be cautious of what we are wearing. I think that this is a great way to re-establish the concept of modesty in our culture today.
I think having the Duck Dynasty brand name to back her up will be extremely helpful to get awareness out for her dresses. I think she is a great role model for the younger generation. Duck Dynasty is a huge brand name and adding one more product to the portfolio definitely couldn’t hurt.
I am the biggest fan of using popularity and fame to create and spread a message – and what is a better message than Jesus Christ. Sadie is an absolute inspiration to anyone, because she had the potential to sit in the shadows of Duck Dynasty and ride the coat tails into her adult life, but instead she is helping change the world, one modest dress at a time.
