Featured on the hit show shark tank, Brian Lim has created a multimillion dollar company and has the leading sales out of anyone in the new market of “glove lights”. Glove lights are as simple as they sound, gloves that light up. However, in places like Japan, China, and Europe, Glove lights are very popular because people can put on entire shows with them and also have competitions. The lights and the way that people move them are an amazing form of entertainment that one must truly experience to understand. Glove lights are a booming business and the industry is only growing more and more each day. Currently, the company Emazing Lights is the largest company of its kind. They sell gloves which can range from standard gloves at $20 all the way up to customizable pairs that can get up to over $150. Nonetheless, these gloves have essentially created their own market over the past two years and the entertainment industry has adopted this new form of entertainment very quickly. After getting on shark tank, the business partnered with Mark Cuban and Daymond John. After partnering with these two their 3 million dollar company has transformed into almost a 20 million dollar company. Lim took an art form that he found in 2010 and created his own market which has expanded around the globe. His desire and innovation has led him to tremendous success in the business world.
That’s one of those classic ideas where I find myself thinking “duh, why didn’t I think of that.” First there was light up shoes, so why not light up gloves? Definitely seems like a cool idea, and it seems like the Emazing Lights company will be able to have a great spot at the top of the lighted glove market if they are the originators of the product and the first to really differentiate themselves.
These gloves are everywhere from small parties to huge raves, and are fun and exciting. It’s super cool how they took such a simple idea and with the use of shark tank and business partners turned it into a very profitable organization.
It’s cool that such a simple idea can become so profitable! This also shows the value that pitching your idea can bring.
seeing these on America’s Got Talent was truly amazing. the simple innovation of adding two products together and creating a show out of it is very original and entertaining
Talk about good use of a very niche market. Looks like Lim did a fantastic job of segmenting and not trying to do too much. Looking at their website it looks like they’ve branched out some in products, but still kept a laser focus on who their customer is and what need they are meeting.
