Mark Zuckerburg is probably one of the most influential businessman of our time. The creator of the social networking world we live in today. If it wasn’t for this man we wouldn’t quite be living the same way we are today. Before everything was face to face; interaction with each other on an intent level, and there was no social media. This young man from Harvard came up with an idea that revolutionized the way humans communicate with each other. The social media platform we all know today asĀ Facebook is the reason for where we are today.
Facebook was the start of everything and then it became Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. they all work interchangeably. Every person living in our generation has all of these things in the palm of their hands and a click away. It’s crazy to think about it but it’s the truth of our generation without it we wouldn’t be the same. Zuckerburg might not of created all these other social media platforms but he essentially created a market. Once there is a market for something that is untapped and available then other entrepreneurs find their niche in the system. He is a pure genius; it was all part of a master plan that most aren’t aware of. By creating Facebook he created something greater than himself; he created something that knows all of us, he is the father of social networking.
One thing to think about being an entrepreneur is the unintended impact your company can create. Mark Zuckerberg has had to figure out how to deal with problems never before experienced that were a result of his creation.
It truly is crazy to think that Zuckerberg has changed the way we interact with one another. Nailed the point on him truly being the father of social networking. He has also created unforeseeable problems with huge consequences, even though it is not his fault. But what he has to do now is figure out how to fix the problems that can be fixed.
It is truly crazy to think about that without Zuckerberg’s vision of the future of social networking how different our lives would be. Facebook laid the seed of future social media platforms to follow it, revolutionizing the way we portray ourselves and see others online and allowing us to more efficiently and enjoyably communicate with others across the world.
Though I was young when Facebook launched, I honestly can’t remember a time without it now. I just recently created an account, but it’s been amazing how much easier it is to connect with people and learn about subjects that interest me by joining groups. Zuckerberg improved upon previous ideas but detailed a need that I’m not so sure people really knew they had. As Gretta noted above, the unintended impact that Facebook made on the world is amazing. There are now so many other social media platforms, but to the users today, they almost feel connected to each other – like one giant platform.
Most people in this class can’t remember a time without Facebook. Zuckerberg was responsible for ushering in a new era and changing the entire culture. He is a prime example of living in the future and looking for opportunities in things that don’t yet exist. He saw how fast the internet was growing and branched off of that to begin the social media age. He has a true entrepreneurial mind.
