Fever Smart is an app that monitors the temperature of anyone with a fever or other illness remotely from your phone. The app analyzes this data with a thermometer patch attached under the arm which feeds the data directly to the app. This app started with a college student named Collin Hill learned the importance of monitoring fevers first-hand when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma before starting college. During his chemotherapy, Hill had to constantly take his temperature since he was more susceptible to infections. One night he went to bed after measuring a normal temperature only to wake up a few hours with a high fever that took him to the ER. When looking back at his time being ill at Penn, He had realized there was a simple solution to this problem. Fever Smart was that solution which could help others in his situation at the time even more efficiently. After coming up with the idea he paired up with Aaron Goldstein who now has the position of CEO. Aaron worked with Colin while he was ill as his friend. Now the Fever Smart system is primarily helping with monitoring children temperatures from newborns to children with fevers. Ever since the product launched it has been praised universally. Along with that Aaron was named Entrepreneur Magazine’s college Entrepreneur of 2014.
I love this product, he found something that had never been done before and not only saw an opportunity for a business but also a new way to help millions of people. A true example of an entrepreneur.
