Rachel Zietz is the founder of Gladiator Lacrosse, a high quality sports training equipment line at an affordable price.
She was inspired to start this company when her coach told her she needed to work on her skills outside of practice. Without the proper equipment and resources to practice, Rachel found herself at a disadvantage compared to the other athletes. She struggled to find affordable, durable equipment that would allow her to even play the simple game of “wall ball.” Rachel then participated in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy Program (co-sponsored by Florida Atlantic University and Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce). This program gave her the idea to solve her problem by creating Gladiator Lacrosse.
Rachel is a sophomore in High School and she has already accomplished a vast amount of success in the Lacrosse equipment industry. Her drive and creativity will allow her to achieve greatness throughout her life.
This was a great flash of ingenuity on Rachel’s part. My sister used to play lacrosse, and constantly worked on her skills through wall ball and throwing against a pitch back. Unfortunately, equipment was always so expensive. Now, there’s an option of affordable equipment by lacrosse players, for lacrosse players.
That’s such a great idea. Sports equipment is expensive and hard to find, and this is a great way to solve that problem for those in that same situation.
I really like how she tried to solve a problem that related to her love for lacrosse. She definitely saw a need for an equipment company that was more affordable, and I find it inspirational that she was able to make that a reality.
As someone who played lax in high school I know the pain of a broken shaft and needing to find a replacement for nearly $200 since I was a long pole. Company’s like this that can find ways to bring down the cost of equipment will be able to grow the game the most as the cost of playing Lacrosse is one of the largest obstacles for new players.
