Co-Founding and holding the role of Chief Product Officer at Kodable, Grechen Huebner is a designer who has taught herself all she knows. Her other co-founder Jon Mattingly hosted the dorm room in which Kodable was originally created. She is the reason for its growth as it reaches millions of kids around the world today, as well as being a Westly Prize winner and member of the Forbes 30 under 30 by giving kids despite their background, the same opportunities she wished she had as a child. Due to gaining several internships while attending Louisville University, Grechen was able to learn the necessities needed to bring height to the next generation of coders. Together she and Jon believed in learning to code at an early age and decided to teach kids how to code thus creating Kodable. Grechen spends her days talking to clients whether that is kids and parents or teachers and schools. She also discusses with the team how they may improve things as well as planning updates. Grechen attends schools that are using their curriculum as well in order to assure they are happy clients and that they have a better use using Kodable. Grechen Huebner is a great model of someone who is constantly going and never easing up making her a successful entrepreneur.
It is super impressive to me that Grechen was able to teach herself everything that she knows, constantly seeking opportunities and striving to become better at what she does. I think that this quality is what sets her apart from other entrepreneurs, because she is passionate about what she does and genuinely wants to teach other people the skills that she has acquired. I hadn’t heard of Kodable prior to reading this, but it definitely an interesting concept to introduce to schools.
