Heroes is the modern approach to applying for a job, aiming to reach the younger generation that is becoming ever more prevalent in the workforce of modern America. In a sterile world of professionalism, it can be hard to see the human side of those you consider hiring behind the screen of their resume and previous experience. When the human aspect of work is becoming more prevalent, so too is the need to see who people are beyond what they have done. That’s where Tristan Petit, Adrien Dewulf and Cyriac Lefort come into the picture with their new job searching platform, Heroes. The trio’s inspiration for Heroes is Tik Tok, and they considered how they could mold their platform to a similar style. The approach was to substitute the entertainment aspect of Tik Tok with an informative video that gives enough information to employers and those who wish to be employed. Petit, Dewulf, and Lefort settled on the model of video resumes, formatting the videos like Tik Tok with the goal of showcasing the personality of job applicants alongside what they have accomplished in a short amount of time. Heroes also gives companies a chance to show off who they are as a community and business to appeal to applicants. This format helps effectively communicate the compatibility of employers and job applicants so it can be swiftly decided if there is a good fit. This ultimately removes the step of hiring someone and realizing afterwards that they are a bad fit, resulting in someone being fired. Heroes allows maximum efficiency for both hiring and for searching for a job, while also appealing to younger generations of workers who struggle to gel with the current means of applying for a job.
This is different in many ways. This definitely is something that is in needs to change with the modern social media society today I can agree with that. Although this is cool, I still think in-person interviews are crucial, lots of people tend to hide and lie behind the screen ad whereas in person you would be forced to face it. I think it is a great way to advertise business but that is also already prevalent on tik tok. There are a lot of ads and businesses on that platform and many others. I think it is still good for people to take a look at it if they are seeking a job.
This is definitely an interesting approach to employee search. In recent years the compatibility of prospective employees and a company has gained more importance. This platform can provide another step before in-person interviews to filter out the candidates for company. Though a prospective employee’s resume or portfolio could be impressive their personalities could be a stark opposite.
This is a really cool business idea! I would love to apply for jobs and internships using this because it removes some of the boring applications process and allow people to show not only creative skills and networking but also a more “real” side of them as apposed to just words on an application or resume.
This is such a creative idea. I love the way that they are taking something as simple as writing a job application and turning it into something that is easier and more geared toward the younger generation. I don’t know if it is something I would use because I believe that having a real interview is important, but it is a unique idea.
