Ida Johannson is a 22-year-old entrepreneur and founder, passionate about people, leadership, machine learning and Gen Z products. At 18, she dropped out of high school and founded her first company, Hyred, a platform within HR tech that used machine learning to improve decision-making in recruitment. The company was acquired in June 2023. She built the company for 5 years, entirely bootstrapped, and expanded the business to four countries and to a team of 50 people. As a self-taught software developer, her expertise lies in combining technology and product innovation with a Generation Z mindset.
What began as Turn in 2019 became Hyred in 2022.
I started Turn Consulting on my eighteenth birthday in 2019 and right then and there we knew very little about what kind of platform we were building. What I did know was that we were going to turn the recruiting industry upside down (hence Turn). Today, almost two years later, we know more about our position in the market and it is time for a new solid foundation to stand on for our brand.
Hyred is an online platform that connects youths with part-time job opportunities based on their skills, availability, and location. It offers an internal payment system for security and convenience. Users can build their skills through various part-time jobs, and these skills are recorded on their Hyree Card. This platform empowers youths to choose how and where they work while gaining valuable work skills. Employers can also join to post part-time job listings for free and efficiently find suitable candidates. Hyred aims to help businesses reduce costs and find quality workers by tapping into a nationwide pool of skilled young talent. This allows users to gain skill badges and achieve financial and professional independence in the digital era.
Ida is based in Stockholm, Sweden. With her business, she’s not only trying to help businesses be more effective in their hiring process but also helping students and young adults get recognized by companies. In our highly competitive business world, it is often difficult to break into the workspaces. Her innovative company is helping students get part-time jobs and is changing the hiring process for the better.
This is such a great business opportunity! I like how she was able to bootstrap to pull this business together!
