Hope Outfitters is a small business started by Ryan Welch that creates cute, comfortable clothing and accessories, and then donates all of the profits to charity. They believe that even the smallest things can add up to the biggest difference. Part of what makes Hope Outfitters an interesting business model is that not only do they donate all of their profits to charity, but they pick a different charity every year. I think this is a great idea because this way, they can spread around their profits and pick relevant causes each year. I believe this also makes it more appealing to customers, drives interest and incentivizes repeat customers because if they like the new charity they will want to support it. Most of the products on the website are made in the United States which is also a nice plus. Hope Outfitters also provides the guarantee that none of their products have been made in sweatshops or unethical ways, allowing the customer to buy with a clean conscience. I believe that this company is a great example of how with 25 dollar shirts, one company can make a huge impact all across the world.
The thing that I like the most about this company is that they change which charity they give their proceeds to. I know of some repeat charities that my parents donate to, but I feel that most of them it is a one and done deal. It is also a very nice aspect that their products are made in the US because that is a very important factor for some people.
This is such an inspiring business, and something that I would definitely look into shopping for myself. When buying clothes it is always a struggle to find popular brands that don’t exhort child labor. What an awesome thing to know that Hope Outfitters is a safe and trustworthy business! I wonder what inspired Ryan to start this business? Maybe there is a possibility of Hope Outfitters expanding across the states.
I do love the idea of new charities every year. It definitely would encourage repeat customers to encourage repeat customers as well as to bring in new customers as they pick charities that new customers care about. I do also love the emphasis on continuing striving for good ethical practices in all of the business, not just in what they do with their profits!
I like the way that this business was able to combine a social enterprise with a commercial one. I like that they donate to a different charity every year since it allows them to show that they do not favor one charity and reduces their chances of being coopted and corrupted by an organization.
I love the idea of giving to a different charity each time, you buy a piece of clothing. It makes the idea of buying clothes fun while also giving back to those in need. The made in the USA piece is also big, since it produces jobs for the community around you. Way to go “Hope Outfitters” !!!
Hope Outfitters is such a great business model. I especially love the name because thanks to their wonderful donations each year the charities definitely have “Hope”. The idea is amazing because people love doing thing out of the goodness of their hearts and this business gives them the opportunity to do just that.
