Justin Bieber is Canadian singer that is recognized globally for his rise to success as a musician and entrepreneur in pop culture, establishing himself as a teen idol at the age of 14. While the majority of his financial success comes from his music career, Bieber’s entrepreneurial spirit allowed him to start making intelligent business decisions from a young age. Within the same year of signing his record deal at age 14, Bieber signed his first partnerships with Proactive and OPI, both of which allowed him to sell products exclusively to Walmart. Within just two months of its release, Bieber’s nail polish line with OPI sold over one million bottles. Two year later, at the age of 16, Bieber became a sponsor with Adidas. This partnership paved the way for him to become Calvin Klein’s top brand ambassador at age 19. As for some other entrepreneurial startups he created, he has made several of his own fragrances, a clothing line known as “Drew House”, a deodorant line, and a clean water technology company– each of which have made him millions of dollars. His other partnerships include: CNN, Crocs, Macy’s, Beats by Dre, Best Buy, Elizabeth Arden, StarShop, and so many more. Justin Bieber is an example of using success as an opportunity for business opportunities from a very young age.
I would not even have considered Justin Bieber to be a young entrepreneur, but he has made his brand very successfully, and expanded into a lot of good target markets. I have seen much of his merch since I was in elementary and middle school, and it is good to see that he has expanded since.
This is a very well written post. Usually when I think of Justin Bieber I never think about all of his masterful financial decisions, but only his music. It is crazy just how many successful start ups and business ventures Bieber has made from a young age. It just goes to show that we should never tie ourselves down to just one profession, and act on our good ideas no matter how they relate to whatever job we have.
I am a huge JB fan, I think it is really cool the moves he has made outside of music. He has found a way to be really powerful in the business world, and has tapped into all different product offerings over the course of his career. He is able to leverage his brand as an artist as great marketing for everyday products that people will buy some form of anyways.
I never have thought of Justin Bieber as an entrepreneur, but this post does a great job describing how successful Bieber has been since a young age. From starting his successful singing career from a young age to creating multiple different successful companies with different impacts on the community, Justin Bieber is a great example of a young entrepreneur and shows that you can be successful in multiple different areas if you try.
