Kiki Hardee was five years old when she learned of a troubling problem. Kids in her school district were not able to afford lunch and it was putting the district in debt. To Kiki this was enough of an issue that it caused her to take action and raise money for the district and the less fortunate within the district. Kiki began to sell cookies, hot cocoa, and running other fundraisers. This is now known as Kiki’s kindness project. After a few years, Kiki has raised enough money to help the district with their debt issues. To date of the article, Kiki has raised more than $22,000. Kiki’s Kindness Project has the goal of collecting ¼ million dollars and promoting the idea of helping others who are less fortunate. I think that Kiki is a great example that you are never too young (or too old) to be innovative and make an impact in your community and the world. She is very inspiring to me because the concept is simple but it is something that has grown to be something much larger than herself. Her motives and inspiration are so pure which makes you just want to help her cause. She has inspired other classmates and people in the community to help the cause which has brought people together which is always great to see relationships being built. I think that the Kindness Project could be spread across the world and help those who are less fortunate receive some help from those who care. This project has a lot of potential to reach other communities and make this world a better place. Crazy to think such a large impact was started by a 5 year old with a kind heart.
