The Life is Good Company was founded in 1994 by Bert and John Jacobs. They started by designing and selling t-shirts out of their van in the streets of Boston.
Jake, the iconic stick figure, was created in the same year the company started. Jake was the beginning of Life is Good. The two brothers printed shirts of Jake and found that they were selling like a wildfire.
Their mission is to “spread the power of optimism”

Life is good has always been a company I have admired. Their mantra/mission of “Spreading the Power of Optimism” I think is something that is powerful and that people can really relate to. Plus their product is cool and unique (and super comfy). I also love the social arm of their company, the Life is Good Kids Foundation which partners with leading childcare organizations to positively impact the quality of care delivered to the most vulnerable children. Awesome company, awesome mission!
Life Is Good has been a company that I have known of for many years that has always represented something a little deeper than most companies. It was a company that had a deeper meaning before it was popular. The Jacobs brothers created a business that remains wildly successful after twenty years and is well known for their products as well as their mission. Optimism is something that everyone needs!
I like this post a lot! Simple, sweet, and to the point. Kind of like the Life Is Good shirts. I own a couple of the shirts and I really like the idea of optimism. In a world with so much stress and pain, the Jacobs brothers met a need for positivity.
Life is Good is a company that I have seen for years and my family has a few of their products. They always seemed to have the best t-shirts with creative sayings that were very simple. I like the idea of having a simple t-shirt be able to “spread the power of optimism.” The company started with a simple idea and has grown since then while still keeping their main goal which I think is inspiring.
I really like Life is Good’s story. Such a simple idea that turned into a nationally known name, and with a mission statement like that, it’s hard to not get behind them!
I really like this. They have an awesome goal, and have been very successful over the years. I really like the design of the logo. Ever since I can remember, I have always known the little Life is Good stick figure.
