WeWork is an office space rental company that gives individuals, freelancers and corporations the ability to rent out shared office space. Its popularity has grown especially with young entrepreneurs because it provides a cheap and flexible working space where users can build community, exchange ideas, and collaborate. This idea is great for millennials because the offices are open 24-7 which is perfect for those who need flexible schedules. Along with providing a workspace, WeWork gives access to basic office needs like internet access, conference rooms, and coffee. This idea is perfect for small companies that have few resources.
A big problem that young entrepreneurs face today is finding access to a liquid network. In my experience, one of the roadblocks to starting my own business would be having access to a productive workspace. I could use my parent’s basement but it would be difficult to exchange ideas because of the lack of social interaction. However, WeWork would solve this problem by providing an office as well as provide the people necessary to grow my idea.
Wow, this is a very impressive idea, yet surprisingly simple. It is truly remarkable to me how even the population of entrepreneurs can be used as the target market of another entrepreneurship venture. In the future, will we eventually have entrepreneurs with target markets of entrepreneurs whose target market is entrepreneurs? Calling Christopher Nolan…
This is such an intriguing idea. Although it is not very complex, it serves a much needed purpose. So many new entrepreneurs are limited by work space, and this idea provides a great and CHEAP solution for them.
That’s a good way to provide a professional space for meetings and other business necessities. It’s a great idea for sharing space and helpful for new or small businesses.
I’m a little bitter about WeWork: I was sitting with a friend sharing a business idea that i was REALLY excited about (I was convinced that i was gonna be a millionaire) but he stopped me and was like, “you do realize that already exists, right? It’s called ‘WeWork'”. I was crushed. But i guess that’s kinda like what we’ve been talking about in class: a lot of great ideas arent the result of a random stroke of insight: the come about when we look for problems and think about a solution. I knew a lot of people who worked from home but wanted a more structured work environment, and as i thought about their problem, i had an idea simmilar to WeWork; i think its safe to say that the founders of WeWork also knew a lot of people with unsatisfactory work environments.
