Two students from Dartmouth College, Souray Sinha and Riley Ennis are the founders and now CEO and COO of Oncolinx. Oncolinx, which creates technology that targets cancer and destroys cancer cells specifically and not the healthy cells. With this it helps those facing cancer treatments avoid and bypass the negative, uncomfortable and painful side-effects they face when going through chemotherapy. Oncolinx was founded in 2017 they have formed over 14 partnerships and have six academic collaborations.
The process for Oncolinx began with the targeting platform and technology of Azonafide. Azonafide attaches to tumor cells and both induces cancer cell death and activates the immune system through immunogenic cell death (ICD). Azonafide then led to shared-data and a material-transfer agreement that allowed Oncolinx to work with Azonafide with a patented linker technology. Lastly, was the design of ICD enabling studies which led to an agreement on commercialization and clinical trial strategies.
Currently, Oncolinx is partnered with more than 12 leading pharmaceutical companies and hopes to enter into clinical trials soon. The founders, Souray Sinha and Riley Ennis have a specific goal to work with academic groups and other startups that have to do with protein/aptamer-drug conjugates as well as immunotherapy combination studies.
What a great example of ambitious goals, fighting something that has affected so many and being successful. Then to take that success and open up the door to other students to also have a possibility to be apart of this research and technology.
This seems like such a fantastic breakthrough. To have two millennials doing such incredible work is insane. I mean to become educated enough to study this topic and the research alone is an incredible accomplishment. Now they get to take all this research and work to make it viable option for patients on the business side of things which is also quite the task, but it seems like they are on the right path.
Wow, that’s incredible! When I think of breakthroughs in curing cancer, I rarely think that college students can play such a big role in that area. That technology is pretty amazing, and hopefully it spurs new innovation in the battle against cancer. Now they’re a leading pharmaceutical company, which is crazy. It shows you’re never too young to make a difference.
What an amazing breakthrough! It is crazy to think that college students created this innovative technology. I am interested to see how their clinical trials go and how this will change the cancer treatment in the future. This business has the opportunity to benefit so many people!
