In most recent entertainment, the main goal seems to be to constantly create new content but also place yourself in an awkward situation that everyday people wouldn’t do. That’s what impractical jokers did and now the newest version, Nelk boys, are taking the scene. These guys are originally composed of three guys but now has expanded to multiple prankers and multiple camera crew. Nelk is unique because rather just staying in one city, they travel all over the US and pull different scenes such as dressing up as zoo workers or ruining a wine tour.
While their antics may seem stupid, they built their credibility and released a clothing line with their famous phrase, “Full Send” printed on the clothes and other various items. This idea is great because they coined that phrase and now it is just a common thing to say, and when it is said, it is free promotion for their brand. As they continue to grow, their horizon expands. Recently, they took a tour to Europe and performed different pranks such as stealing soccer balls while playing or pranking golfers in Scotland. They are in inspiration because it shows how something so small, and even quite stupid in a sense, can turn into a smart idea. Obviously they struggled at the beginning but now they are doing overseas tours and selling out their merchandise in 30 minutes.
I think it is really cool that they were able to market their brand in a way that self promotes! I never would have thought of this.
It is so inspiring to see other people build or put a interesting twist on something that has already be done. this is due to the new creativity and the comedian’s in this situation. So many people dwell on something that has no been done before rather then to mold some idea that is already successful and put their own personal twist on it. This could cause new challenges though, like what would people want more of or what do people demand of the current idea that would satisfy them more then the current one.
