Ross Resnick is the epitomy of a millennial entrepreneur. The proccess that he went through to become what he is today is very much in line with what we have studied in class. At 25 years old, he saw a big problem and discovered “pain”. What he did was transform the way we eat and our perception on those food trucks parked on the streets in a busy city. He created a company called “Roaming Hunger”.
This company tracks nearly 4,700 food truck vendors in major cities and gives you the information to access them on a daily basis. He said this was a random idea that really took off with people. Not only does this provide the vendors customers with where they can find their favorite food, but it also provides a way for these vendors to offer catering services as well as even help provide financing for them.
Ross Resnick had a goal of lifting the social perception that comes along with the “street vendors” and he has accomplished that. He has made them more accessible, fun, and engaging.
Tom, what a great post, keep up the good work! Sounds like a great Idea that I would definitely want to try out. Do you know if this is available in Pittsburgh?
This is a cool idea. Tough for Grove City, everyone would just be tracking the mule train which doesnt move. I think this could be an awesome way for people to get started with their food truck, and let people know they exist. Also this could be a great way to gain customer approval and ratings for the vendors.
This is a great idea. Not only does it help the producer, but also the consumer. Its so neat to hear stories like this where a business is built on the solution to a problem. Great find!
I love this idea. I know in my town food trucks have a large following, but people often don’t know where they are or if there’s a special event they’ll be at. For this reason i believe there is a use for this. Plus it helps generate business for the food truck too. Entrepreneur helps entrepreneur. Its a great business. Great post!
This has been a problem since food trucks became commonplace – being at the right place. This business is great because it gives a central location to find where each food truck is. That allows customers to not only follow their favorite food trucks, but also give customers the opportunity to try new ones that are nearby.
Wow this seems like such a good idea. Why not match the people who want to buy from street vendors with the vendors that they want to buy from? Genius. Does the company use a mobile application or a website? I think it would be awesome if they did have a mobile app for users. That way, on the go, users can check where the closest vendor is with the food type they want. I would definitely use this when in a big city!
