Nisha Persaud: A woman who seizes opportunity to find success
Nisha Persaud is a woman who found herself in a similar situation to most people in 2020 when Covid shut the world down. She was confused, lost, and lacking a salon to get her nails done at – Something she felt was incredibly important to her identity and her feeling good and put together. However, rather than calling it an unfortunate situation and moving on with her life, she saw an opportunity here.
She took the pain she was experiencing in salons having to be closed for the time being and knew other people were also feeling this way. She already had a passion for fun nails, so she decided to run with this. Nisha created an at-home business called “The Clawset”, where she created nail kits for people to do their own nails at home. The nail kits come with all sorts of fun things, including nail polish, acrylics, and patterns that are all designed by her. She ran her business on Instagram, which made it easily accessible to many, and allowed it to grow rapidly.
“Nail salons were closed. My brand helped people keep their nails slayed when things got hard” ” stated Persaud.
Her company has grown drastically and has turned into a business making her 6 figures. Despite it being huge, she still says she is a “one-woman team”. She is hoping to someday get to the point where she has a team to work with and help with the business, but as of right now, she is flying solo.
Nisha Persaud is a prime example of someone who took what looked like a bad situation and turned it into something incredible. She started as an elementary teacher who was missing going to the nail salon and ended up creating a 6 figure business that is continuing to grow. She looked at what she was passionate about and found a way to create something amazing out of it. Ultimately, this is a dream for many, and she made it her reality. Some might say she really nailed it 🙂
I think Persaud had a serious problem who many could relate to and found a way to solve it! She has a great point, when my nails are done, I feel put together and I love it. I have an at-home nail kit and definitely agree, it is so convenient to be able to do my nails whenever and however I want them.
While Covid really sucked, I do enjoy seeing some of the cool ideas people came up with. I also thought it was neat how such a simple idea could make that much money. Persaud is a great example of how people adapt to their environment to fulfill need/wants.
This reminds me a little bit of Daisy Pops. When COVID happened, the company created their own cake pop kits for people to do at home, similar to how Persuad created nail kits to also do at home.
Nisha’s story is deeply relatable, as I’m sure I’m not the only one that missed those little joys during the lockdown. Her transformation from your every day nail salon lover to a thriving entrepreneur is amazing. I was curious to see what all her business was currently selling but it looks like almost all of her nails are out of stock, so I hope everything is okay for her!
