If you could wear a $2,000 Badgley Mischka gown to a formal, would you? I would! In fact I actually did, all because of Jenn Hyman and her ingenious creation of Rent The Runway. In 2009, Hyman created a company that changed the formal, prom, wedding and party game. Rent The Runway holds a warehouse full of designer dresses for women across the country to rent and wear. The dresses range from completely casual to full on wedding dresses. The system is simple. Find a dress online, or in a RTR Store that you love. Pick the dates you want the dress, and wait for your dresses to arrive! Rent The Runway has thousands and thousands of dresses to choose from along with pictures and reviews from other women that help you find a dress that will flatter you and your body type. Recently, RTR added more components to their site. You can complete any outfit by renting necklaces, bracelets, earrings and even handbags! What do you do with the worn, dirty dress that you looked stunning in? Simply stuff everything back into the garment/shipping bag and send it back to RTR for FREE! Rent The Runway allows women to feel like a million dollars (literally), save money on dresses that may have been stashed in a closet and never worn again, and never have to leave their desks to shop for them!

This is such a good business idea! Women spend lots of money for fancy dresses for events, but only want to wear it once. Rent the Runway found a common problem that many women face, and came up with the perfect solution. I love how they dry clean and inspect the dresses after every use, so you know you are getting a like-new dress. Thanks for sharing!
As a man this doesn’t necessarily appeal to me but I think the whole concept behind it is ingenious. Seems like a massive undertaking but overall looks as if it has been a huge success! Great find!
