Robert Felder started his entrepreneurship journey while he was still in high school. This is because he visited Bangladesh where he learned about the facts and truths of clothing production. That is when he started his company by thinking of an idea that can helpĀ solve that problem. Robert still went on to college even though he knew what he was gonna do. Right after he graduated college he went on to turn his idea into a real business which was already in motion. This idea was Bearbottom, a sustainable clothing company which sells ethically made menswear.
Robert Felder founded Beabottom clothing company in 2017 around age 22. The company focuses on men’s clothing offering a range options that prioritizes ethical manufacturing practices. He utilizesĀ recycled materials or organic cotton to help reduce the carbon footprint. He not only does the most he can for his employees and works hard to not harm the earth he also shows a strong sense of community and social responsibility. Robert has partnered with various organizations to give back and make a difference. He mostly sticks to organizations that help communities affected by the fashion industry.
Bearbottom gained much traction due to Roberts niche he created. His principles of ethics and sustainability is the major reason for Bearbottoms success. This business averaged over 300% year-over-year in its sales. The company not only does well at attracting new customers but has an impressive 30% repeat purchase rate.
As of now Robert is still continuing to lead Beabottom as it grows. His now is involved in strategic decision-making, product development, and community outreach efforts. He is still trying to enhance Beabottom, such as expanding their product line or increasing their charitale contributions.

I find it really interesting that it was when Robert was traveling the world he saw the truths about clothing production and the struggles. I personally really enjoy wearing clothes that are not only comfortable but also trying to make the world a better place. Robert is doing the most he can to not harm the earth with the making of his products. Doing this gives the brand a message and purpose besides just clothes. Overall, Robert inspires me to not take short cuts and if you see a problem, find a solution, and don’t be scared to fail.
This is wonderful! It reminds me of the Tegu story. There are wonderful opportunities to make a difference in the world, and it is always fun to see how often there are several needs met, not just one. The people in Bangalore, India are employed and able to provide for themselves and their families, meals are given to the local children, there are likely people working in the Tampa Bay office, and the company is providing good quality clothing (not made in sweat shops) for purchase! It seems like often entrepreneurship melds several passions into success stories like this! I am thinking about making some Bearbottom clothing purchases for Christmas gifts. Thanks for posting on this company.
I liked that you spoke of how Bearbottom makes its products ethically and sustainably. I believe it could have been a more impactful statement if you had compared it to how clothing production had been carried out in places like Bangladesh. Robert Felder has a good vision for this world, as there is a lot of suffering, unsafe working conditions, and mistreatment in the garment and textile manufacturing industries. Nobody should work under those conditions.
