Jose Ortiz was an average worker going from job to job trying to find a fit, but he realized he didn’t want to work for someone. Ortiz preceded to look on eBay for items he could potentially sell. From his research Ortiz kept seeing a pair of shoes (Just Don x Air Jordan 2) that retailed for $350 that was selling for $1,000 every hour. Ortiz recognized that there was a market for sneaker reselling and he decided to buy a different pair of shoes for $190, and immediately sold them for $300. Ortiz continued in this market and had great success through getting every sought after drop possible and selling them for a finders fee on the resell market. Ortiz made six figures in one year of reselling and decided to help others succeed like he did.
Ortiz starting a business on top of his resell that helped others succeed. He started a website called Six Figure Sneakerhead where people could look for advice on how to make a living on sneaker reselling. Ortiz also wrote a couple books such as, “10k Per Month Sneaker Workbook,” the “2019 Supreme Resale Bible,” and “Hypemaster Playbook.” These books branched out from just sneaker resale into streetwear as well. Ortiz has helped countless people to make a living off of sneaker resell and he has made a hefty profit from his success in the resell market, and in the educational market.
Jose Ortiz never settled, instead he decided to make a living in an unconventional way. On top of that, Ortiz didn’t just stop after making money in one area, he pursued other areas where he could expand his business and help others. Ortiz found a better way to make a living and provided the blueprints for others to do the same.
Good post! It is interesting how something as simple as buying and reselling shoes could make someone so much money. It is hard to believe there is that big of a market. I think it is really cool that he decided to help others make a living in this business.
