Sometimes the greatest profits can come from the least expected places. Alec LaCasse of Michigan found huge success in the area of wood carving. What started out as a hobby ended up with his dropping out of college to work full time just to keep up with the flood of orders he constantly recieves. Business is so good that he can only accept a small fraction of the orders he receives. He dropped out of college to work full time and regularly sells out art shows. It’s a testimony to the fact that we shouldn’t be scared to share with others something we are passionate to create…you just might find a unique market filled with potential.
This is a great example of what can happen if you take a passion and stick with it! It is very inspiring to hear stories such as Alec’s. Due to modern society, many people look down on others who do trade work rather than a job that requires a college degree. It is sad, because often times people that do these jobs such as Alec does, are better off.
There is a lot of pressure to go to college to get a job. LeCasse found a unique skill that he excelled in and did not need college to figure it out. College is good, but not necessary.
This is so cool because it is such a lost art! Also, that he had the boldness and wits to quit school and, in a way, go out on a branch to launch this business. It’s so cool to hear a story of how using your passions really can end in a sweet business.
This is awesome because this guy wasn’t afraid to jump right into business. Even though he was in the middle of a college education he saw his passion somewhere else, and didn’t hesitate to to run after it.
