Steven Skunberg, the founder of Cymatics, started his business by purposely failing out of Georgia Highlands College. He exclaimed that he needed to fail out of his classes so that he “had no other option but to succeed.”
After he dropped out, he worked tirelessly to start his e-commerce business of creating and selling sound packs for producers to insert into their own music. This business brought Cymatics from $0 to $1 million in just six months.
How did Steven grow his business so rapidly? One word, “marketing”. With self-taught knowledge on how the internet works and how to market a product, he was able to effectively and successfully create a sustainable business.
This is truly an inspirational story of an underdog that fought tooth and nail to make a living in what he loves to do. No matter how many members of his family and friends that told him to give up on Cymatics, he never did.
I don’t quite understand why he would feel like if he dropped out of college he would only have this one option to fall back on, but it doesn’t really matter because it seems to have worked out for him. What exactly is Cymatics? Is it a speaker of some sort?
I enjoyed hearing about the persistence he put into the marketing that he did, and how he used the internet to promote his business en devours.
