Peters Township native Michael Hanna knows what it takes to run a winning campaign. From the digital side to the organizing of volunteers, 21 year old Michael is the brains behind over 30 winning political races in Pennsylvania alone, and the go-to consultant on hundreds of others.
The co-founder of Jumpstart Strategies, Michael discovered his passion for politics at 6, when he met George W. Bush for the first time. Learning the game from an early age, Hanna learned how to sift the true from the false, the deception from the facts. Since his young start, Michael has met with 3 presidents, his favorite of which is Donald Trump.
An ardent defender of the President, Michael has used his vast network to push meaningful conservative reform. Studying at Penn State online in order to work at Jumpstart full-time, Michael stresses the need to get educated, but not necessarily on a college campus. “Learning on campus offers a variety of distractions, almost all of which can deter you from a path to business success. It’s important to leave with a diploma, but at the end of the day, that’s all it is – a piece of paper.”
With a traditionally democratic family, Michael had to break the trend to become not only an informed voter, but also a prominent voice for the right. His grandfather was the chairman of the Washington County, Pennsylvania Democrat party, but Michael honors his legacy by encouraging people to understand that the party then is not at all like the socialist-leaning party now. It is hard to find people with the values of the older Democrat generations, as the party now is so split.
Hanna is certainly one to watch, with a high chance of soon being on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Serving at the tip of the spear of political campaigning, Michael continues to be a prominent voice in the consulting community. In chess, it is good to be 2 steps ahead, but in politics, if you’re like Michael, you’re 5 steps ahead.
I think it’s super cool that Michael broke his family trend of democrats. I feel like most kids just agree with whatever their family likes, and don’t really pay attention to actual political facts, so it shows that his republican pride is real. I also find it very mature of him to want a college diploma without all of the college “distractions,” because he is right, at the end of the day a diploma is just a piece of paper.
I have never hear of Michael Hanna. It is almost unbelievable that a 21 year old can be credited with over 30 winning political races already, with more to come I am sure. Michael is a great example of someone with both a passion and a drive to make a successful career. I think his message of what the Democratic party has become vs. what it used to be, is an important piece of history that is often over looked.
