Who doesn’t love traveling? Better yet, who doesn’t love traveling and getting rewards while you’re doing it? Brian Kelly use to work for HR and recruitment, but decided that wasn’t the best fit for him. So, with a goal in mind he launched into his passion, the traveling industry. With the history of consulting in his family, he had a knack for finances, deals, and tricks to save money. Known as “the points guy” at work where his coworkers would flock to his cubicle for planning and travel tips, he decided he must have been good at what he did and jumped into the planning with 100% effort.
With the growth of his website, Chase Bank expressed interest in using his site as a platform to advertise their credit cards. From the profit Kelly would make every time his reader would sign up for a credit card he did not need to be in the Human Resources profession anymore and is became full-time of his website. After months had passed, he sold his business to Chase because they not only had a stronger support team for running the website, but they had a higher price. Luckily Kelly still has input and control in the content as the creative content manager of the site.
The website is full of topics for readers to explore and research depending on what they are looking for. There is News, Cards, Reviews, Points & Rewards, Travel, and Videos tabs that hold articles, lists, and reviews depending on the topic. There is a lot of helpful tricks and tips that anyone can benefit from and advise them to making the right decision or purchase. A couple examples are “TPG Guide to Amazon Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals” and “11 Ways to Make Every Trip You Take More Meaningful” – This website is full of great ideas and ways to miss the scams and extra fees that come with traveling and shopping. Check out The Points Guy & you may save some cash.
I love how he made the bold move of leaving an industry he wasn’t happy in and pursuing his true passion of traveling and helping others get the most out of their travel experience! There are so many ways traveling could go wrong or become very expensive if not done right, so Kelly’s website full of tips and tricks will definitely help lots of wanderlust soul’s get the most bang for their buck! Great read and I’ll definitely check out “the points guy” next time I’m looking to travel!
