Tumblr is one of those social media sites that people often forget in spite of it’s popularity. It’s amazing how quickly sites like these gain momentum, getting so many users so fast. Karp showed real innovation with the creation of this site!
Karp seems like he was a very busy man and loved to work. Tumblr is definitely a huge success and shows that Karp did not want to stop working until he created that successful company he was waiting to. He has a great work ethic and great drive to create, as all entrepreneurs need.
I was in high school when Yahoo! bought tumblr and I remember how wild it was. Everyone at my school was obsessed with either tumblr or Pintrest. It’s crazy to imagine a micro-blogging website such as tumblr earning someone such a major payout.
