Walt Disney was born a normal child, who lived on a farm and enjoyed the normal activities that came with that. When it came time for Walt to get a job when he was of age, he attempted to become a newspaper cartoonist, but ultimately was unsuccessful. So, instead he worked in an art studio where he created ads for local newspapers and magazines. This was his first job that really sparked his passion in being creative and artistic. His love for creating only grew, and so did his careers. Climbing the ranks in his industry, he eventually worked on commercials, and then evolved into animation. This later did become his successful animation company. Walt used all of his creative knowledge to concoct hundreds of characters that would touch the lives of people across the globe. His first character that he created, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, but sadly since he was under a contract with Universal Pictures, he couldn’t claim ownership of his first character. He suffered greatly there, then decided that he needed to leave when his pay got cut. Under immense pressure with no great source of income, Disney worked tirelessly to create his new character: Mickey Mouse. The rest was history, and now he is the proud entrepreneur and owner of several amusement parks, his own network, and plethora of characters.
This blog post was so cool! The fact that Walt Disney stuck with what he loved throughout his whole life is great. He formed doing what he loves into a worldwide known empire. He is a great example of do what you love until you make it. There is space in every field for creation and innovation, just stick with it!
Walt Disney is a prime example of an entrepreneur with a grand vision. And was persistent enough to lead the charge in animation. Pushing the boundaries of storytelling through this new median. The impact that he has left is impossible to go unseen. Between the magic of his theme parks and the shows/movies still being created with his formula.
I didn’t realize how much Walt struggled at first. He definitely had a lot of drive to be able to do what he did. No matter what he never gave up! Especially for being turned down the first time, he didn’t seem to let that get to him, instead he worked even harder. I have always been a fan of Walt Disney and all the brilliant characters he created and brought to life. It is really cool to know what he went through to make that happen and how it evolved into what it is today!
