Wise Pocket was started by young entrepreneur, Sofi Overton. She came up with this idea when she saw her older sister put her phone in her boot because the leggings she was wearing didn’t have any pockets. Sofi decided to do the same. She explained how uncomfortable this was and wished she had a better was to keep her phone safe while also being an active kid. So she decided to make a pair of socks that have a pocket big enough to hold a phone on them. She had also noticed that there was a surprisingly large number of kids in her area that were considered homeless. So along with this great idea, she decided to donate one pair of socks to. a kid in need with every pair that was sold. Sofi is helping to solve two problems at once with Wise Pocket. She is solving the problem hat she had as an active kid that doesn’t have any where to put their phone, and is helping to solve the issue of homelessness in her area. At just 11 years old, she is doing great things!
A phone pocket in a sock does not seem like a brilliant idea that ensures good business, nor does it seem like a successful product, but perhaps Sofi has found her niche market to sell in people she knows who like to transport their phone in their socks I guess.
This is a really fun idea! I have definitely had this problem before. I think its awesome that she took one problem in her life and decided to help others in identifying another need. I’m sure buyers would also love to join in addressing this need. so it makes her product more appealing.
I have experienced the no-pocket phenomenon enough to see the potential in this business. When wearing a backpack or carrying a purse is too inconvenient, Wise Pocket allows customers another option to carrying their phone in their hand. I also love how Sofi gives back to the community through her business. I have never considered the idea of a sock holding your phone, but I’m interested in seeing how effective it really is at solving the no-pocket problem.
This is such a great idea! I have so many clothes without pockets and then I always have to find a way to carry everything that I need. I seem to forget things in places too, so it just never ends well when I don’t have pockets. I love the thought of having a sock pocket. When I went to a country concert I ended up sliding my phone in my boots but that made me very nervous and it was pretty uncomfortable too. If it were possible to have a sock pocket I would’ve had no worries!! I also love that with her business she wants to give back to the homeless community. At such a young age, she is not only solving pocket problems but also helping the homeless community and that’s amazing.
