Charlotte Fortin is from a long line of entrepreneurs. When she graduated high school she has an idea to open a business called Wound Up. Wound Up is a women’s clothing store for women between the ages of 18 and 40 that is inspired by a few small and quirky clothing boutiques in California. Her store sells shirts, blouses, skirts, shorts, and dresses and much more. Opening her own store so young has taught her a lot. She had to learn responsibility much quicker and grow up because of this opportunity. She says that even though she is busy with the store and works a lot, she is still able to have fun and keep in touch with close friends. This balance is really hard and important to learn. It is admirable that she has learned it so young.
This is a cool idea especially coming from such a young person. She saw a need and solved it with company. It is good that she found a good balance of work and play. This is an important concept for any working individual to understand.
I agree with Matthew because at such a young age it is amazing that she would take a need, and solve it. It is amazing that she also found a good way to balance work and play which is a very difficult when owning a business and it is a problem that everyone who has a job has to face.
Clothing stores are nothing new, but it’s awesome that she found her own profitable twist. It’s cool how just a couple of boutiques in California could inspire a whole store that is successful. Sometimes it’s not about having a radical idea for an entrepreneur. Rather, it can be about finding a small opportunity and niche market that can still be profitable. And who knows, maybe that niche market will become much bigger and we’ll start seeing Wound Up stores across the country!
When I was looking for something to write about for my blog post, I also came across Fortin’s story! It’s really interesting, and I can definitely see how she is an entrepreneur! I think it is cool that Wound Up started when she graduated high school, but I can also understand how it could be a challenge to find a balance in life as a successful young business owner.
