Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift as an entrepreneur. She is very smart and calculating in the way she markets herself, connects with her fan, and brands herself. For example: when she released her era’s tour movie, she went above the middle man basically and signed a deal with AMC. Swift connects with her fans in a way most artists do not and there is a whole fandom created around her because of how she puts easter eggs in her songs, pays for fan’s cancer treatments, hosts secret sessions (filed 100s of fans to her house to play them the album before she releases it), and hosts meet and greets/makes an effort to connect with them. Since she has this reputation and continues to put easter eggs in everything she does, her fans care so much about her and will purchase actual physical copies of her albums in a way unlike any other artist. her album (vinyl, CDs, etc.) sales are insane and every album she releases breaks a previous record that she has set herself. Even if she does not have more streams, she will always have more record sales by a long shot. Here’s an example: she became a billionaire off of her music (touring, selling vinyl’s and such, streaming, merch, tour movies) alone Taylor Swift also reinvents herself every so often. She does this by having each album as an “era” and will change her hair, style, genre of music she’s writing in, etc. this constant change draws people to her. Swift is aware of how society treats women in the music industry and knows they often fall off when they reach 30. but Taylor swift has proven this wrong, she is at her most successful she’s ever been right now. she reinvents herself and embraces the change around her which leads her to be more successful than ever in order to be a good businesswoman you have to be constantly adapting and she does this well. Taylor Swift also had the rights to her music taken away from her and instead of being defeated by this, she decided to re-record all of her music. This has made her even more successful.

Kylie Jenner was made famous through being related to the Kardasian family, but Kylie herself is quite a young entrepreneur. In 2014 when she was only seventeen, she started Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie is the founder and CEO of Kylie Cosmetics. Since then, she has sold over $630 million dollars’ worth of makeup. She owns 100 percent of the company. The company’s profit is slightly over $800 million. She is on track to be one of the youngest “self-made” billionaires, even though it is believed that it would not be possible without the help of her billionaire parents Chris Jenner and Bruce Jenner, who is now Caitlyn Jenner. Leaving her being a billionaire at the prime age of 21. This outbeat Mark Zukerberg by two years. Klie wanted to make affordable makeup for all types of people. Kylie cosmetics is not her first business. In 2013 Kylie and her sister Kendall created the Kylie and Kendall collection with Pacsun. At first it was called Kylie Lip kits then renamed Kylie Cosmetics in 2016. I believe this inspires young girls to pursue their dreams, find what they are passionate about and go for it. It is becoming more common for women to be part of the entrepreneurship world, but the big names you hear about are all male such as Mark Z and Elon Musk. Besides owning Kylie cosmetics Kylie Jenner is also a model, American businesswomen, media personality, a new mother, and much more. I think it is very important to see young women become so successful and flourish, in our society it is very common to see and hear about men building themselves up and starting a company, but not so many women, thankfully this has been changing throughout the past few years.

Erik Finnman

Erik Finnman in May of 2011 at the age of 12 made a deal with his parents to be able to skip college in order to pursue a different type of education. He had to turn $1,000 in cash into $1 million. He purchased $1,00 worth of Bitcoin when the currency was $12 per coin. He worked his way up to be a billionaire by the age of 18, this makes him one of the world’s youngest billionaires. Finnman goes on to tell people that college may not be the way for everyone. This is education that is outside of the normal college realm that worked for him. Finnman will focus on establishing a new start which will make use of cryptocurrencies, and which is intended to participate in the development of a satellite for NASA. Finnman a mother says that “Erik took a very unique path that suited hun and he turned out better for it..it’s so important that everyone find the right educational system that matches their learning style.” Finman first heard about bitcoin when his older brother took him to an Occupy Wall Street protest. He fell in love with the revolutionary potential of cryptocurrency, he says. He was inspired to start a business because he hated his school life. One teacher told him to drop out and work at McDonalds while another held an “Erik Finman roast session” where students were encouraged to make fun of him. His parents would not let him drop out of school therefore they made a deal. Education was a big deal for his family since his parents met at Stanford  doctorates in electrical engineering and physics. His mom was involved in Nasa in the 1980s and Finnman. In 2015, Finman made his best business move: he sold Botangle’s technology. The buyer offered him either 300 bitcoin or $100,000 cash – he opted for the bitcoin.
