Shawn Frayne is a name not many of us have even heard, but that does not mean he is not very successful. Shawn is a young entrepreneur that is helping world energy problems and does so by the creation of a device that can capture wind energy in places that normal wind turbines can not. When you think about it, wind is everywhere, and some of the windiest places it is nearly impossible to build a wind turbine to harvest the energy from the gales. That is where shawn comes into play, he developed a device that can places almost anywhere, from skyscrapers in the city, to the tops of bridges. This allows all that energy that can not be picked up by wind turbines, to be harvested and used to supply energy to tons of people. This is a true feat of entrepreneurial thinking, to bring a whole new means of harvesting energy to the table and maybe even help to retire the big tacky wind turbines that are scattered across the plains.

When you are an entrepreneur you can find ways to create successful businesses anywhere. A prime example of this is the company “Duck Commander.” While not started by young entrepreneurs, this company makes it apparent that you can develop an entrepreneurial mind at any age, and that is exactly what happened when the Robertson brothers decided that they were doing to make the most realistic and pure sounding duck calls on the market. They achieved this by experimenting with the way the calls give off sound until they found just the right combination of air flow and reed vibration. They experimented with their calls in ways nobody ever had and in the end they came out with the best calls on the market. This is an amazing example of how any and every product can be improved and it takes a true entrepreneur to do it!

When i think of college students my mind is immediately fixed on the crippling student loan debt that comes along with the education. That is where Ryan Cypher had the entrepreneurial idea to use college as a tool to get work. So he started the landscaping “The College Yard Guys.” He started this company with the idea in mind that people would be more willing to pay college students to do their yard work, and help them pay for their education, rather than pay professionals. The College Yard Guys are fully equipped and have experience in many areas of outdoor yard work. They are capable of mulching, edging, moving heavy landscape rocks, planting, trimming bushes and trees, and mowing. Ryan was right in his hypothesis that people would be more willing to pay college students despite the lack of proper experience. This lead to them always having plenty of business and helped pay off some of the steep cost of college. College yard guys continues business even after its founder has graduated college. Now heading up the company is Ryan’s younger brother, Jeffrey Cypher. This has given their community a good cause to put their money towards while also getting landscaping work done in return.

Relaxation is a key factor for one’s personal health, it reduces stress levels which in turn affects a great many things. Every day people are striving to improve on or find new ways to better enjoy the time they spend relaxing. Two brothers Peter and Paul Pinholster saw this and set out on a mission, their mission was to created the most comfortable and reliable hammocks on the market. Thus was the creation of the Eno. Eno or Eagles Nest Outfitters simply started with a mission, being run by the Pinholster Brothers, they wanted to leave the conventional workplace and create the most comfortable hammock the world had ever seen. they traveled up and down the east coast and before they knew what had happened, they were way over their head in business and selling hammocks left and right. within a few short years their business had grown larger than they ever could have imagined. Now they are selling hammocks to people all over the world and Eno has become a household name. The Pinholster brothers are a prime example of someone solving a problem that almost nobody knew really needed solving and creating a whole new market for the world of outdoor relaxation.

Cameras have been around for years and years and many different types and models have been developed over the years, but there is one that truly changed the way we can captures moments of our lives. This of course is the ‘Go Pro.”  Go Pro was founded by a man named Nick Woodman, who being an ameteur photographer, just wanted to film himself doing awesome things. this is when he had the genius idea to strap a camera onto his wrist while surfing to capture his experience. From here he realized that this is something he could market and began working with different prototypes until he arrived at the now famous and highly acclaimed “GoPro” camera. In a time where everyone wants to film or document anything or everything that they do. Whether it be a simple vacation or scuba diving in the Bahamas, people want the world to see what they experienced. Woodman gave the people exactly what they wanted and developed an affordable camera that was both waterproof and could shoot in high definition.  This brand has brought so much to the world of photography and offered a wide variety of people a way to film activities that just were not able to be filmed before. Woodman saw an opportunity and took it, bringing the world a chance for everyday people to experience the world through a whole new lense.
