Cory Nieves: Mr. Cory’s Cookies

At 6 years old, Cory Nieves found himself frustrated in having to ride the bus every day to school. He would complain to his mom about this, but soon realized the only way to fix this issue would be to save up for a car. While most kids would have stopped there and moved on, Cory decided to take action into his own hands.

Cory constructed a business selling cookies in his hometown in New Jersey. He soon expanded to also selling hot cocoa and lemonade. Cory and his mother, Lisa Howard, became business partners in the fast-growing company and soon began working on testing out various recipes they created until they finally discovered the perfect combination for chocolate chip cookies.

While the duo started with chocolate chip cookies, they have since expanded to create 10 additional flavors. The company values natural, organic, and quality ingredients in their products, which has been very well received by the public.

What began as a small project to help his mom buy a car has turned into something truly remarkable. Cory had started baking his cookies in his home kitchen, however, his mother and he eventually upgraded to a commercial kitchen to keep up with demand. They now mass produce their cookies nationwide. The cookies are sold on various platforms, including Amazon. Cory has also made more than enough to buy a car by now, however he has no plans of stopping. He was actually featured on the Ellen Show, where she gifted him a car – While this was an incredible moment for him and his mom, their goals are now much bigger than the initial car.

Ultimately, Cory Nieves and his mom looked at what they had and could do, and created something incredible. Cory has a great future ahead of him, considering how he became a successful entrepreneur at 6 years old, a millionaire by the time he was 15, and now is 18 with so many more great things ahead of him.

Nisha Persaud: A woman who seizes opportunity to find success (Jocelyn Bolumen: Blog Post #1)

Nisha Persaud: A woman who seizes opportunity to find success

Nisha Persaud is a woman who found herself in a similar situation to most people in 2020 when Covid shut the world down. She was confused, lost, and lacking a salon to get her nails done at – Something she felt was incredibly important to her identity and her feeling good and put together. However, rather than calling it an unfortunate situation and moving on with her life, she saw an opportunity here.

She took the pain she was experiencing in salons having to be closed for the time being and knew other people were also feeling this way. She already had a passion for fun nails, so she decided to run with this. Nisha created an at-home business called “The Clawset”, where she created nail kits for people to do their own nails at home. The nail kits come with all sorts of fun things, including nail polish, acrylics, and patterns that are all designed by her. She ran her business on Instagram, which made it easily accessible to many, and allowed it to grow rapidly.

“Nail salons were closed. My brand helped people keep their nails slayed when things got hard” ” stated Persaud.

Her company has grown drastically and has turned into a business making her 6 figures. Despite it being huge, she still says she is a “one-woman team”. She is hoping to someday get to the point where she has a team to work with and help with the business, but as of right now, she is flying solo.

Nisha Persaud is a prime example of someone who took what looked like a bad situation and turned it into something incredible. She started as an elementary teacher who was missing going to the nail salon and ended up creating a 6 figure business that is continuing to grow. She looked at what she was passionate about and found a way to create something amazing out of it. Ultimately, this is a dream for many, and she made it her reality. Some might say she really nailed it 🙂
