SellMax

SellMax is a used car buying company based out of San Diego. One of its founders, Sean Pour, has over 10 years of experience in the car business. When he was just 14 years old, he created a website to help his father sell used cars. From there, Sean taught himself how to manage the used car business.

The company is simple: a seller first must provide the website with some necessary information. What condition the car is in, what year it is, the model, and many other minor yet important details. From there, the company experts can evaluate the car based on the little information that you have given. After the evaluation, they reach out with the best cash offer for your old vehicle. It’s that simple! On the website, it states that no matter what kind of car, they will “find a home for a fair, competitive price.” The company has received great feedback from its customers and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

Layups for Lucy

Layups for Lucy is a non-profit organization that donates all proceeds to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. This is actually an organization that was created in my hometown, and I have been blessed to be able to be so involved. When Grace Beal was still young, her little sister Lucy died from congenital heart failure. In order to give back to the hospital that had helped her sister through this hard time, Grace asked her seventh grade basketball coaches if they could do an event to raise money. She raised almost $6,000 that year.

Layups for Lucy is a great event that brings our community together in ways we never imagined. the event is hosted at my high school, and brings in hundreds of people from all over the county. Since 2014, the organization has raised nearly $100,000 for the Children’s Hospital. I am truly blessed to be apart of such a giving organization, and I’m sure my friends can say the same.

BoostMySchool

Holman Gao is the founder and CEO of his fundraiser company, BoostMySchool. Gao is a software engineer turned entrepreneur. His first venture into Entrepreneur was when his old school needed to raise money for lost funding due to the government cutting funds. To help cover the costs, he decided to start BoostMySchool as a temporary fix. The company blew up, nearly doubling the amount of money that had already been raised. Since then, Gao and his company have been able to raise millions of dollars for schools around the world.

In order to continue to provide necessary funding to schools, BoostMySchool is set up to be a corporate solution platform. This means that the platform can continue to raise money on a recurring basis. However, this type of platform is extremely costly. Since the platform is only geared towards fundraising for schools and universities, BoostMySchools is designed to only track information relevant to the cause. For example, alumni donations as well as parent donations are constantly monitored on the website. By doing this, it provides the school with accurate data about who their donors are.

Robert Luo- Turning Milk into By-Products

As a three time entrepreneur who sold a company for $300,000 in 2019 while studying in college, Robert Luo is an aspiring, young entrepreneur with a great solution to an overlooked problem. In 2018, Robert went to visit his uncle’s farm in China. One of the biggest things he noticed was the amount of milk waste on the farm. His uncle informed him that this is actually a problem at every big farm in the area. Before leaving, his uncle challenged Robert to find a solution to this problem. His idea was to turn the milk waste into by-product. He calls the company Mi Terro.

Robert created this company in order to turn milk waste into plastic-alternative biomaterials. On their website, they give an in-depth look at what they are doing. By providing information on how much food is wasted per year, the company does a great job of getting the viewers attention. The film they create is home compostable, ocean degradable, and way cheaper than other biomaterials. Robert’s company is proof that with the right idea, anything can be accomplished.
