19-year-old John Feinsibler was one day researching for a project while in high school when he came across an online learning game called Kahoot. The concept of the games struck him, but he thought of improving the base & execution. Determined to come up with something new, Feinsibler gathered a few of his high school friends to brainstorm ideas. His great effort to innovate something that had already existing led to the creation of Gimkit, now used by thousands of teachers everywhere.
Gimkit is a live quiz learning application that allows teachers to make different “kits” to help their students learn. The game kits award students for their activities and allow teachers to keep a tab on their progress in real-time.
Josh’s innovation earned the Top 5 on Product Hunt on it’s launch day and has earned about three million users across 100 countries. Part of Feinsibler’s huge success was his great focus on aspects that are important and have the potential to add value to the end-user from the start of this project. He recognized that it is important to know how people want to interact with the service, how the want to feel when they use it, and what experience it should create for the user. All entrepreneurs can learn something of value from this great young innovator.
