Jimmy Donaldson – MrBeast

MrBeast (@MrBeast) / Twitter

Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is an American businessman and philanthropist who has one of the most subscribed YouTube channels of all time. MrBeast is best known for making insane and often expensive challenges for other people to participate in to win big cash prizes. He is motivated by more than just one reason. In an interview, he said, “I’m motivated because I want to support my mom and my family. I am motivated because I want to employ my friends and help them. I am motivated because I want to be a YouTuber.” He has the desire to help others and has been helping others by donating so much money in many of his videos.

His idea is great because he is entertaining people while giving to others simultaneously. MrBeast demonstrates the entrepreneurial traits of experimentation and improvement. He wants to make the best videos on YouTube and make sure that each one is better than the last. How are they innovating? Aside from YouTube, his other ventures include a mobile game, Finger on the App, his own fast food restaurant chain, MrBeast Burger, and his own line of chocolate bars, Feastables. He has also exercised his philanthropy by partnering with Team Trees and Team Seas and inventing his own platform, Beast Philanthropy.

MrBeast inspires me to invest in others, to make sure that I am providing a quality service for them and helping them out as God commands us to. He reminds me that it is important to have fun with what you are doing and make it fun for other people. It makes others more invested in what you’re selling.

Ryan Hickman – Ryan’s Recycling

Ryan Hickman - YouTube

Ryan Hickman is the founder of Ryan’s Recycling, which focuses on the collection of recyclable materials so that they do not go to waste. What makes Ryan Hickman a unique entrepreneur is he takes his own approach to a global problem, the problem being recyclable materials being wasted.

Ryan has been driven to make a difference in cleaning up the planet ever since he was at the age of three when he didn’t like seeing discarded bottles and cans lying on the ground, so he did something about it. This idea is great because it ensures that reusable materials end up being renewed instead of potentially being left in the world and polluting the environment.

Ryan is innovating by starting a new nonprofit, Project 3R, which he uses to educate and stress the importance of recycling to adults and kids alike all around the world. It will also help to organize and manage clean-up efforts for the community. He also sells T-shirts that state the message, “Make the Sea Trash Free.” All of the profits from the sale of his merchandise and recycling go to the rescue organization Pacific Marine Mammal Center. He has helped recycle 1.5 million cans and bottles and raised more than $14,000.

Ryan inspires me to look for problems in the world, find a good solution to that problem, and get others to care about the problems too through community and teamwork to help expand your business. I have learned the principle that getting others passionately behind your solution to the problem you are trying to solve can help expand your business.

Michael ‘Mikey’ Wren – Mikey’s Munchies Vending

Michael ‘Mikey’ Wren is a young entrepreneur from St. Louis, MO, who started his own line of vending machines called “Mikey’s Munchies Vending” back in 2016 when he was just at the age of eight (EIGHT!).  There is not much I found that makes Michael a unique entrepreneur. His road to becoming an entrepreneur had obstacles. After overcoming his struggles with reading and comprehension in the third grade, he developed a growth mindset and persevered through many of his life challenges.

He is now 13, has 12 vending machines, and continues to give back to his community. He gave away $10,000 worth of brand-new clothing to children. He hosts an annual toy drive to donate new toys to kids. He and his Mom designed the “I Am an Entrepreneur Masterclass”, which is designed to help families teach their kids about business and money without feeling overwhelmed and frustrated with not knowing where to start.

What drives Mikey is that he believes that there is an entrepreneur in everyone and he is on a mission to inspire the entrepreneur inside all of us. What makes his idea great is that it is a service that many people use throughout their daily lives. Mikey shows the entrepreneurial traits of expanding his business. He is the author of the Amazon Best Selling children’s book “Mikey Learns about Business” and he is also the author of the book “Biz Is A Wiz” which is written for kids that are in PreK through 3rd grade.

Micheal inspires me to look at things that many people use in their daily lives and find opportunities for innovation. I have learned the principle of keeping an open mind to opportunities.

Lily Born – Imagiroo

Teen CEOs: Lily Born of The Kangaroo Cup - The Startup Squad

Lily Born came up with the idea of Kangaroo Cups to help her grandfather who has Parkinson’s Disease and was frequently spilling his drinks. What makes her business unique and interesting is that she saw a problem with a normal, everyday item that most people would not think twice about and came up with a very good solution for it. Lily exhibits the ability to research how best to solve the problem. She and her dad traveled to the ceramics capital of China, JingDeZhen, where they found a manufacturer and refined models of the cup. They made the cups out of ceramics and plastic and produced them thanks to crowdfunding from platforms like Indiegogo and Kickstarter. Each cup features three handles to keep it from spilling. Lily Born inspires me to think twice about products, even normal objects, and think of how to improve them. I also have learned that there is always room for improvement in everything. I hope that this innovation becomes normal in this world over the cups that have one handle or no handle that can easily spill. Lily is an inspiration to innovators of any age and a role model for kids all around the world.

Hart Main – ManCans

Hart Main is an entrepreneur who came up with the idea to make manly scented candles. He did this at the age of 13 after teasing his sister about selling scented candles specifically for girls for a school fundraiser. He was driven to make scented candles for men after reconsidering his purchase of a $1,500 bike. His parents contributed to helping their son develop the candles and start his own business, which they named ManCans. He shows the entrepreneurial trait of taking an idea, even if it sounds silly at first and evaluating a feasible solution. Hart’s ManCans candles show his innovation by putting manly scents such as Campfire, Bacon, Sawdust, Fresh Cut Grass, and Grandpa’s Pipe into soup cans. The company that makes these candles is Beaver Creek Candle Company in Lisbon, Ohio, which employs a developmentally disabled workforce to make the candles by hand. ManCans candles are sold in every state, with sales exceeding six figures annually. Hart also donates part of each of the sales to soup kitchens across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Michigan. Hart Main inspires me to take whatever ideas I have, take what resources I have, and come up with a feasible solution. Hart Main inspires me to look at the possibilities of any idea.

Eric July – Rippaverse

Eric July, better known on YouTube as YoungRippa59, is an American musician, YouTuber, comic book writer, libertarian political commentator, and founder of the Rippaverse. The Rippaverse is a new individual comic book company created by Eric. He was driven to create the Rippaverse after seeing major comic book companies like DC comics and Marvel comics succumb to the woke ideologies of the modern era, which caused them to hire writers who care more about pushing their woke agendas over story and characters and let them destroy beloved comic book characters for the sake of pandering to the mainstream media. Eric was a YouTube commentator on this issue for years but then decided to be part of the solution by making his own comic books that were not focused on pandering to the mainstream but on telling entertaining stories with great characters.

Eric exhibits entrepreneurial traits of being able to see the problems of a failing product and create a better alternative. He also focuses his company on respecting the customer, creating a story continuity that will not be altered, like DC and Marvel often do, and making a comprehensive story that is easy to follow. He has launched a website for Rippaverse, as well as artists to bring a new era of comic books.

Eric July’s Rippaverse shows that there is a way to please audiences while standing for what you believe. He has received backlash for his efforts but he still perseveres. With his first campaign reaching $3.7 million, it shows that there is an audience for some authentic comic books.
