Zachary Weisenthal – Web Lord

Zachary Weisenthal, Zach's Web Designs

The final post of my young entrepreneurs thread is about Zachary Weisenthal who is a 16 year old web designer. He’s been a web designer long before (which is incredible, given his age) but was inspired to launched Zach’s Web Designs in 2014, when he attended the entrepreneurial Maverick Family Freedom Event. Much of his work is creating customizable websites for different businesses with different business interests. He’s worked with a variety of organizations ranging from a nonprofit brain cancer company (Keep Punching) all the way to a professional website for a female race-car driver. The company brought in around $15,000 of revenue in its first year, and looks to have continued success.

Mo’s Bows Knows

Moziah Bridges

Moziah (Mo) Bridges is a 15 year old entrepreneur with an impressive bow-tie business. He started his company at just 9 years old (notice a theme here?) and launched his company into the spotlight by appearing on the hit entrepreneur show, Shark Tank. Fun fact: he is the youngest entrepreneur to appear on Shark Tank. From 2011-2014, Mo’s Bows have made a total of $350,000 in sales and in 2015 they earned $250,000. Mo made another huge move by partnering with the NBA recently. He engaged in a licensing partnership which allows Mo’s Bows to use the logos of the NBA and NBA teams on his products. The NBA reached out to Mo initially because the recognized his creativity and entrepreneurial potential, and that potential was also recognized by TIME magazine when they named Mo in their Most Influential Teen List, back in 2015. Mo’s knows how to be an entrepreneur, with his bows.

EvanTube taking over YouTube

Continuing my theme of young entrepreneurs, here is 9 year old millionare that owns the YouTube channel “EvanTube” where he reviews toys, games and overall creates interesting content. He’s expanded with another channel “EvanTubeGaming” where he specifically talks about gaming. Evan has nearly 3 million subscribers to his channels and has almost 2 billion views of his content. Evan’s father noted how nice it is to have his sons college education basically taken care of, which is an amazing feat in itself. Evan never discloses his family name and certainly is careful about what is shared over his platforms, all of these are important to consider when you are dealing with millions of subscribers and under the watchful eye. Evan is another example of making your passion a successful business, and with the correct guidance, it certainly can happen.

Sebastian Martinez and some crazy socks

Sebastian Martinez, CEO, Are You Kidding?

This young entrepreneur is an inspiration to us all. Sebastian Martinez is a seven year old kid, who turned a hobby of collecting crazy socks into a business. He started the company Are You Kidding at five years old after his mother suggested he create his own crazy socks. The business made $15,000 in 2014 and had continued success in the following years with consistent revenue increase. Are You Kidding has worked with organizations like the Live Like Bella Foundation and the American Cancer Society to raise money and awareness and they are involved with other philanthropic endeavors. With the help of his mother and older siblings, Sebastian has done more than most seven year old kids and is an inspiration to entrepreneurs everywhere!

Singers are entrepreneurs too

As I was researching you entrepreneurs, I thought about what is currently influential. The one thing that kept coming to mind was song artists and singers. There are countless examples of artists that have established brands for themselves and created their own markets. My previous post talked about Justin Bieber and the power of his brand image. Shawn Mendes is another young musician who is doing an excellent job of this. He became famous on Vine and eventually had a top 10 song with “Stitches.” He’s created a huge following and fan base for his craft and he continues to have success.

I believe singers and musicians are entreprenuers because they are creating something that is fulfilling a need or solving pain. Most of the time it is original and wanted. Singers/Musicians are a great example of entrepreneuer’s using their talents to pursue their goals.

Bieber Fever

One of the most successful young entrepreneurs of our time is Justin Bieber. He started out on YouTube where Usher eventually discover them. Since then, he has accomplished a lot. At only 23 years old, Justin is already worth $225 million. He has a large presence online with 102 million Twitter followers, 78 million Facebook likes and 92.1 million Instagram followers. He has a huge endorsement deal with Calvin Klein and has his own line of emoji’s (justmojis).

Justin isn’t a clean cut, perfect person, he has constantly come under fire for his certain acts and antics. Especially in his late teenage years, he was called to be kicked out of the US. He wasn’t treating is fans well (spitting on them, stopping concerts mid-song). But regardless of all this negative publicity, his brand still held strong, people still were going to his concerts, buying his products and listening to his music. In recent years, he opened up about his faith and actively changed his lifestyle and image, which has only strengthened his brand.

The bottom line: whether you love Justin Bieber or hate him, everyone has Bieber fever because he is a relevant opinion leader of our time and a strong entrepreneur.
