Nelk Boys

Nelk was founded in 2011 by Kyle Forgeard, Jesse Sebastiani, and Lucas Gasparini. Nelk began as a YouTube channel that consisted of prank videos. The first prank video that really blew their brand up was the “Coke Prank on Cops” video. It was launched on January 12th, 2015 and now currently has over 23 million views on YouTube. In this video they purposely got cops to talk to them while Nelk was in their vehicle. They told the cops that they had “coke” in the back of the car and were sorry. When the cops opened the trunk it was actually Coke as in the soda rather than cocaine. This video is still their most popular video to date.

Today not only is Nelk a YouTube channel, but a brand. Near the beginning of 2018, Nelk had to stop posing content on YouTube due to multiple videos being deemed inappropriate by YouTube. According Image result for nelkto YouTube’s policy, if a channel is issued three “strikes” than that channel will be terminated. A “strike” can be given to a channel as a warning for posting inappropriate content. A “strike” can go away after a certain period of time, and in Nelk’s case they had to wait two months. Nelk had received two strikes on two different videos, and were afraid to post any other content, so instead they created their own platform on their own website.

Nelk’s website, fullsend.com, now offers exclusive content to those who purchase a membership. Nelk continues to upload one video a week through YouTube, but also uploads an exclusive video a week on their website. Their website is also where they sell their brand ranging from apparel with their logo to their slogan, “Full Send.” Nelk now has over 2.2 million subscribers on YouTube and is continuing to branch out and grow their brand.

Quali Health

Dr. Nthabiseng Legoete is the founder and CEO of Quali Health which is based out of South Africa. Dr. Legoete graduated in 2003 from the University of Pretoria and qualified as a doctor. At the time South Africa’s medical industry was very poor, and it continued its poor reputation for years. People who worked in South Africa were faced with a choice when they needed medical treatment which was either skip a day of work and wait in line at a medical treatment facility all day, or go to work and hope their problems go away. Multiple people would become terminally ill throughout this time period due to the fact that they couldn’t afford skipping a day of work. Dr. Legoete saw this as a major problem and decided to do something about it.

Dr. Legoete established Quali Health in May 2016 when she opened the first public facility in Diepsloot. Quali Health’s goal is to “improve access to primary healthcare in under-serviced communities.” The vision was simple. Solve the problem of choice between work and healthcare in South Africa. According to their website (qualihealth.co.za) their plan is to “provide effective primary healthcare to this segment in South Africa in the short term and Africa and other emerging markets in the medium to long term.” By 2017 they had expanded with three new facilities located in Alexandra, Tembisa, and Soweto.

Dr. Legoete’s first facility was only receiving an average of 62 patients a day upon opening in May, but it didn’t take long to take off. By August of 2016, Quali Health had over 400 patients visiting the one facility every day. The impact on the poor communities around the facilities has been incredible. Residents now have access to affordable health care that also allows them to receive assistance in the morning and be out and off to work by mid-morning. These facilities also have created over 200 new jobs, the majority actually residents within the communities. Quali Health is also working with small businesses around the areas by offering catering, plumbing, and maintaining of the facilities. Quali Health also offers training opportunities for potential new staff. World’s Biggest Videographer

Cole Bennett, a 22 year old videographer and entrepreneur from Chicago, Illinois. Cole started his own YouTube channel called Lyrical Lemonade in September of 2013 with the intent to film music videos for rappers and hip-hop artists. Even in 2013, music videos were very popular and the competition to get a videographer to create a video for an artist was large, but Cole was unique. Cole’s videos were like none other and really allowed viewers to remember artist by their videos. Before Cole’s videos, rappers never really took the music video industry seriously. In the year 2013 alone the top ten music videos consisted of Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Avicii, etc. None of these artists were involved in rap or hip-hop at the time. Rap was still kind of an underground thing for almost all rappers with exception for a few.

After 2010, streaming music started to become increasingly popular. Streaming companies such as Spotify, Pandora, and in Cole’s case, Soundcloud began to take off. Soundcloud was different from the main streaming services. They didn’t really represent major record label artist. Instead they stood for giving underground, unsigned artists a chance at the spotlight. The artists that used Soundcloud to gain fame such as Lil Xan, Lil Skies, and Lil pump became targets for Lyrical Lemonade.
