Sustainable Walls: How a 26 year old Provides the house that keeps on giving

Where are you most comfortable at? My guess would be that many people would say they are most comfortable in their own bedrooms. What if I told you that there is a potential that you could bring your room with you wherever you leave? You would probably think that was something of the si-fi future. Well Ged Finch, a 26 year old austraillian entrepreneur, is working to make that a reality.

Ged Finch is studying to obtain his PhD at Victoria University’s School of Architecture in Wellington, Austrailia. He has created a resuasable X-Frame structural framing system. This system can reduce construction waste from a single home, up to 5 tons of waste! Finch says his design was picked up this year by the Australian commercial accelerator programme, which was looking for circular economy models. “They found X-Frame and were very keen to be involved, and, subsequently, we have had a lot of success in Adelaide.” Finch is actually up for a potential award at the Sustainable Business Awards, that will be annouced tonight! The team has built more demonstration projects, completed several office fit-outs, and is about to build a large house that will be completed by Christmas. Good luck to Ged Finch at the awards and in his upcoming ventures.

11 Year Old Baking Sensation, turns years of work into successful business.

What were you doing when you were eleven? Maybe at that time you were learning to bake with your family. Chances are, however, that you were not starting your first business. Miriam Rieder is the exception.

Rieder started off with truffles, red velvet, to which she gave to friends and family. 7 years later she went nationwide at the age of eighteen! The nationwide success is in part because she was discovered by Elvis Duran on The Morning Show. And that itself was not your traditional elevator pitch. Rieder explains, “On a whim, I decided to send some of my truffles to The Morning Show. I wasn’t really doing it to get my product talked about, I just wanted bragging rights to be able to say I sent my truffles to Elvis Duran on The Morning Show!” After a few features on the show, she went from have an average of 1 order a week to 23,000 views on her website in one day!

Rieder has no business or entrepreneurial background, she just hires her mother to do all the accounting activities. Rieder uses her creative mind making new styles of baking!

25 year old Woman turns Fun Candle Side-Hustle into £10m Business.

Think you are too busy to start a side-hustle? It is not worth it right? It could be rewarding but it will never pay off may be the answer to that. What if I told you the side0hustler could turn into a £10million business. Oh the sticker shock may not be in pounds, so how about 13,115,500.00 in US Dollars! All this from a side-hustle that started in a family kitchen 2 years ago.

Hannah Chapman, 25, worked a job dealing with social media two years ago, started melting wax at the age of 23 and it just took off. She started advertising on Instagram her candles and before she knew it she quit her day job to focus solely on making these candles. Chapman credits social media for her success, as without it she would not have the customer base she has today. She says, “That’s the beauty of social media – there are ways of leveraging it that don’t necessarily require money and I think that’s what makes it so exciting for budding companies and young entrepreneurs, it really levels the playing field.”

On top of all that, she is able to employ her dad as a worker in her supply chain. The business itself does not just rely on candle sales, also having wax melts, bath bombs, room sprays and other handmade items. What an accomplishment by Hannah!all information was found at https://www.mirror.co.uk/money/woman-starts-10m-candle-making-22993723

Candles for the Homeless: Brisco O’Donnell

I would like to spotlight a group of young brothers who are entrepreneurs in the candle business who are helping the homeless with their candle business. The great idea did nit just stem for a need to help to homeless, it actually grew for a need for more allowance. The three brothers, 13-year-old Collin, 11-year-old Ryan, and 8-year-old Austin, started the business in 2017 in order to try and get more money for video games and Nerf guns. It was by suggestion of their parents that they start a business, so the started a candle company named Frères Branchiaux. The goals of the business quickly evolved and are displayed in their mission statement, “Our mission is to provide great scents and inspiration through candles! We also have a goal to help people who are experiencing homelessness. We donate 10% of our profits to D.C.-area homeless organizations. We believe that community is important, so we made sure that our business also supported the community.”
