HackerOne

HackerOne is a young company that has made money through hacking. The company started as two friends who were good at hacking looking to make money. Instead of hacking as being a destructive thing, this company HackerOne has taken to help companies. The duo started by hacking into Facebook. Then showing Facebook where the company was suspect to attack or was weak in its security defenses. The duo then created a platform for other hackers, to use their skills in a beneficial way. HackerOne gets contracts from different companies that will pay for anyone who can show a weakness in its coding of websites. HackerOne allows different hackers to attempt to hack these individual companies. HackerOne takes twenty percent of the possible payout. So this allows individual hackers to make money for their time and expertise. HackerOne is a company that finds businesses who want to make sure they are secure from outside hackers. By hiring HackerOne a company is able to protect its information much better. HackerOne gives hacking a beneficial purpose and individual hackers the ability to make connections with larger companies so that they can be hired or paid for their services.

Bee Downtown

Leigh-Kathryn Bonner is a young entrepreneur who is making a social issue her business. The decline of the bee population is something that Bee downtown is trying to change. Leigh- Kathryn Bonner has put together a business that puts bee hives on large company headquarters. Leigh-Kathryn is putting these bee hives so that to try and save the bee population. The companies that work with Bee downtown allow the employees to learn about bee keeping as well as help in a social problem. Bonner was able to start this business while in college and has turned down jobs so to continue working on Bee downtown. Bonner struggled to show companies that Bee downtown was not a non-profit but an employee interaction that teaches employees about the sustainability initiative. Bee downtown installs hives on company grounds then teaches employees to take care of the hive and the employees can take the honey home for free. The company is built to teach and save the bee population.

Nohbo

Benjamin Stern is the CEO and founder of Nohbo Company. Stern came up with his idea when He was in the ninth grade after watching a documentary about the effects of plastic waste. Stern came up with the idea of Nohbo which is a plastic free way of getting shampoo to the consumer. Stern saw the way different laundry detergent pods worked and came up with an idea to bring that kind of technology to shampoo and hygiene products. The product is a bio-degradable ball that holds shampoo. Stern was all in on his idea, He worked different jobs to fund the project and then also invested his college savings into the company. Stern is currently trying to get his product into major hotel chains as well as investigating whether his bio-degradable ball can be used with other products such as shaving cream and sunscreen. This young entrepreneur and company is one that I think we will hear about a lot more in the future. So be on the lookout for Nohbo drops and other plastic free ideas for hygiene products.

Teal Drones

George Matus began flying drones when he was 12 years old. He flew everything that he could get his hands on. He became frustrated with what was on the market, He was wanting more out of the drones. So by the time George was 16, He had the idea of creating his company Teal. George was a visionary for drone racing, He wanted to create a drone that could fly 70 mph. That is what he set out to do. Teal drones has drones that can reach speeds of 80 mph at this point. But at the beginning George wanted to build fast durable drones that could help create a bigger community of drone racers. Drone racing was a small market before Teal, this is because to compete racers would need to build their own drone or tinker with other models to increase the speed of the drone. George wanted to have a drone company that a racer could pull it out of the box and be competitive in the world of drone racing. These ideas led him to be on the forefront of a growing community that he helped create with his company Teal drones.
